They really stretched this season. Like seriously, it should have been 8 episodes. But it was still good. It wasn't as good as the first half of season 1 but far better than the second half of season 1.

6/10. Just like the other Netflix shows, it felt like a slog. This could have been 6 to 8 episodes but once again stretched to 13 episodes. Story wise, nothing really impressed me. The action was average. The acting was okay. Over all, its just there. Not bad, not great.

This was a great season, a big improvement over the first. I also think it's the best series of 2018 so far, and that includes the second seasons of Legion and Westworld. To me, compared to the rest of the Netflix shows I'd only rank Daredevil seasons 1 and 2 above it.

So much better than JJS2. Not quite as good as the Cottonmouth saga, but substantially better than the Diamondback saga. I love this show. I think it stands at least as tall as JJ when you include this season. And I am really hoping we see IF compensate for the weak af S1 so that all these series can transcend.

As much as I enjoyed this season it just didn't come close to that first half of Season 1 IMO. Bushmaster being such a charismatic and well developed villain is what really elevated it for me and kept me engaged, but he ain't no Cottonmouth. At least it ended on a strong note though.

solid season, surprisingly. I'd give it an eight. season 1 was a disaster, but this was promising. better story, better written characters, better acting and way better music

i thought it was a really really good season.

alfre woodward had so much fun with the role and made a great foil.

i thought there was some really good character development with basically everyone.

bushmaster turned out to be a really good anti-hero of sorts. wish his backstory episode came a little bit earlier.

fight choreography was much better.

also first gay reference in marvel (if i'm not mistaken).

and this version of iron fist is infinitely better than what he was on the show.

happy they focused on jamaicans all year (even if some of the accents were really watered down).

music was on point too.

all in all, solid 8+ out of 10 for this one. it connected with me.

I gave it a 9. I thought this season was stronger than the first. I didn't mind the Diamondback stuff the first season, but this season didn't feel like it had any dips in quality. Maybe it's because it kept the action up with a lot of cat and mouse stuff, I don't know. I thought Bushmaster's motivations were great and the whole Stokes family drama as a whole was wonderful. The ending worked well and was mostly a surprise. It opens things up for an interesting season three and I hope they don't back away from the premise.

This season was great but I'm not big on the eps that go back decades to imprint character motivations. I don't agree with the good 6-8 eps and filler argument, more like 10-11 good ones.

I also don't like the "bad guy from eps 1-7 flips to more of a good guy in 8-13" plot points. Meh.

I enjoyed this. One of the better seasons. Excellent character development and depth. Sets up season 3 nicely leaving the character of Nightshade ready to pick up the mantle as the villain going forwards, perhaps aided by Bushmaster. Overall enthralling story telling. My ranking:

Overall, a very good season with compelling villains, a good moral quandary for the hero, and mostly good-to-great performances. I especially enjoyed Bushmaster. But I do agree that it definitely could have been condensed into 10 episodes, especially if you cut out some of the musical numbers. I know that’s part of the show, but it felt excessive this season, like they were just including it to fill time. Also, some of writing was really spotty in certain points... like when Bushmaster ties up Mariah and Tilda, but then unties Tilda and sets the house on fire. Somehow Tilda doesn’t have enough time to untie Mariah, but enough time passes to allow D.W. to see the house burning and go find Luke, and for Luke to come save them both. Like, really?

Still, overall, it was a really good season.

Can't see many agreeing with me but seriously thought this latest season of Luke Cage was the worst one of the Marvel Netflix shows so far. Out of any of the series so far this one felt like it had by far the most filler, the Shades & Maria relationship was painful to watch im not an actor but neither of them looked comfortable with it, Luke Cage to me wasn't the first, second or even third most interesting character on the show.

I really enjoyed this season, and I thought the whole cast did an excellent job. In many ways, I thought it was stronger than the first season because, while I liked Season 1 a lot, I felt that the second half of Season 1 was a lot weaker than the first half. With Season 2, I felt that the whole season was very strong from start to finish overall. Some parts were a little slow in the pacing, but I was still very intrigued and entertained.

The strength of the show's characters helped a lot in keeping me interested. Luke, Misty, Bushmaster, Mariah, Shades, Tilda, and the others all had strong portrayals. That went a long way in making the season a great experience for me. I give it a 10.

Finally got around to finishing the season, and I actually liked it! Color me surprised because the first season was my 2nd least-favorite of all the Marvel seasons, after Iron Fist. But yeah, this was a huge step up. Mariah was far more interesting this season (Woodard KILLED IT), Shades continued to be a highlight and Misty was awesome, as opposed to mildly decent. Her team-up with Colleen was almost as fun as Luke's team-up with Iron Fist. Speaking of, it took 3 different shows, but I FINALLY managed to like Iron Fist! Huzzah! Well-played, Luke Cage team. I need both duos to get shows now, please.

Mike Coulter remains the weak link for me, unfortunately, but he did alright and the supporting cast was totally able to hold my interest this time. This season ended in a very interesting place that actually managed to get me interested in Season 3, so, bravo.
