Justice League Ray Fisher - WB Investigation Updates Thread

I dont want to see anyone belittle or disrespect people for flipping burgers etc.
In more savage times those people would lead the pack because they provide food.
Have some respect for them, its nothing to insult people about.
Every person who works to provide us the most basic needs, deserves more credit.

On that, im behind Fisher totally.
Dont you dare look down on service workers at all.

I don’t think anyone here does.

Yeah, i have enough confidence in the community here not to do that.
It was more a General statement, which i should have worded more clearly, sorry.

All this hate Ray is getting is kinda unbelievable to me. Dude calls out people in power doing horrible things, others back him up in his claims, and yet we have folks defending them here? Why because they make DC movies? Why all this weird glee at the prospect of Ray not getting jobs because he is calling out abuse?

Unreal.
His jabs at Walter Hamada are unfair, imo. Hamada wasn’t even involved in the production of JL and Fisher still can’t keep his name out of his mouth. It makes it seem like Fisher is only upset because he lost the opportunity of playing a superhero in a continuing franchise.

He specified in the past that his beef with Hamada was because he tried to stop him from going after Geoff Johns and Toby Emmerich, not because he mistakenly believes Hamada was in charge of the Justice League reshoot debacle.

This. The people saying otherwise would just rather be mad at Ray than actually understand what he’s saying.

What are we talking about here?
Was Hamada going "dont make this public right now, let us handle this internally" and Fisher was going: No i want the attention and pressure on it.

Or was Hamada trying to completely shut anything down?

Do we have confirmation about what exactly was going on...because if its just Fisher saying "hamada wanted to stop me" then that is not enough for me.

According to one of Ray's older tweets, Hamada called him and offered Whedon and Berg's heads, but told him Johns was off limits.

You can’t tell an employee not to talk about an investigation anyway. You may be able to protect certain details of the investigation, but forbidding an employee from saying anything at all is illegal, unless there’s a justifiable business concern outweighing the employee’s rights.

So either example that @Mani-Man provided would’ve been wildly inappropriate behavior from Hamada.

Folks need to realize that California does not play games when it comes to employee rights. It’s just that most employees don’t actually know their rights or don’t want to bother.

I dont know, i think it comes down to it.
If he told Fisher to keep a low profile to ensure a fair investigation, i can see why telling him to stay quiet is a good idea.

But if he really told him to be quiet, throw this under the rug if he punishes a few people fisher felt wronged him...thats bad.

And i mean look at how this all turned into, you cant tell me that this in any way was a good result for anybody.
One might even argue that WB had no choice but to punish someone because fisher kept going publicly.
Which begs the question, did Fisher even want a fair investigation?
Its not like he said "over at WB stuff is wrong, please investigate and find the people who did bad", no he constantly pointed everyone towards who he thinks are the bad guys.

How can we be sure this were fair investigations at all?
We cant be sure because on one hand the company wants to keep a white vest as much as possible, maybe hiding far worse stuff than fisher accusations, and on the other hand Fisher who wanted desperatly to see someone being punished.

I think the threat of a system which allows and abuse and covers for abusers if far more concerning than the threat of people making false accusations.

The various cast and crew who have backed Fisher is convincing to me.

Hopefully the good that comes out of this is that people who might have misused their position in the industry will think twice before doing so, that people being mistreated will be more likely to stand up against it.

You mean Grace Randolph was full of ****?

Just in case anyone still had any lingering feelings about Cyborg being in the Flash movie, I guess.

All Hamada apparently said was “the Geoff Johns I know wouldn’t do that”, I’m sorry but that’s not enough to label someone an abuse enabler.

I’ve said this so many times, but I suppose once more for the people in the back...

If what you’re suggesting was Hamada’s actual response to abuse allegations then he’d be in direct violation of employment law. An employer cannot just dismiss allegations of workplace misconduct based on friendly feelings.

So no, it is actually exactly enough to label someone an abuse enabler.

Told you guys, Ray is not going to just shake hands with this guy because a JL 2 may happen. He’s not cut from the same cloth as most ppl in Hollywood (who care more about their career than human beings).

These press releases can't all be coincidences. WB is definitely reacting to him

Nah, it's all a negotiating tactic. Quite brilliant, actually.

But didnt Ray himself admit at one point that Hamada “wasnt there” during all the reshoot drama? Thus why he spoke to him in the first place.

Idk this thing is getting so ugly.

Hamada was still at New Line at the time I believe which explains his involvement with Shazam.
