Re-creating Captain Marvel?

Young, cool Elvis.

It's where he got his hairstyle from.

Ya know, that same 'let's make the cripple a hero' thing had occured to me, as well. If that in any way has affected this decision to promote Freddy, DiDio's getting a trashbag full of poo in the mail.
The only thing Freddy's got going for him is that he's an idiot cripple who happened to be Billy's A.) half-brother or B.) childhood friend, depending on which version you read. Either way, Billy felt sorry for him getting crippled by Captain Nazi, so he decided to share his power for him. This is so lame.

I actually quite like Freddy, I always felt he had a stronger character than Billy because outside of his hero persona he has a very individualistic character with a more unique view on the world and would definatly appreciate the powers that he has more than anyone else. Imagine being crippled and being able to say one word and not only can you walk fine but fly and people look at you with respect and admiration rather than pitty.

Also in YJ he was excellent.

I dunno, I think he could make a very good Captain Marvel.

All right, I guess I have to like Freddy now. I could've gone either way before, but that settles it.

One thing I'm hoping is that, by the end of the Trials of Shazam mini, Freddy can at least say his own name.

Same here. Freddy rocks.

So if Freddy becomes Capt Marvel, will he get all the power or will he still share half of it with Mary?

I don't know. In 'Brave New World', both of them got their powers stripped. I don't think Mary's gonna be in it for the long haul, based on the direction Winnick's wanting to go.

I hope Mary still at least has powers by the end of it. It would suck if Winick just left her completely powerless.

I hope Freddy doesn't become Captain Marvel. He sort of annoys me, so part of me really hopes he gets his powers striped away..

I just read the the latest "52".

Why is Captain Marvel acting like the Joker??? What is wrong with him??

And is anyone tired of Black Adam calling him Billy??

Captain Marvel's having a hard time getting used to all of Shazam's power and the stuff that being tied to the Rock of Eternity brings, like hearing the Seven Deadly Sins' voices in his head all the time. He says as much in the comic.

And no, I'm not tired of Black Adam calling him Billy. Why would I be? His name is Billy.

No you see, he doesnt actually read comics, he skims them and find minute things to make threads *****ing about it and to call comic books racist.

If there were more black heroes, we wouldn't have to put up with this s***.

Where do they get the nerve?
From Steel. He had all his nerves replaced, and he likes to remind everyone he can about it as often as possible.

True.

Mary Marvel had a new costume at the end of IC #7 (her old one didn't have an extended sash), so I'm assuming she still has her powers by the end of this.

Id give the power of Captain Marvel to a kid with OCD and tourettes... just keeps screaming SHAZAM randomly :)
