Your wrong there ShadowBoxing. Ninjitsu techniques properly learned and used can enable someone to move quick and stealth-like enough to maneuver to targets and take them out. Its not how strong u actually are, its how smart enough and how you use the right tactics that will enable you to win in a fight.

It's also the strength of your will power... Personaly i believe that vigilantes could exist in this world IF the world or a city became desperate enough. In this world there's not really too great a crime lord to attract the attention of a wantant vigilante..

Then of course you've got to take into consideration the 'vigilantes' physical abilities too.. He could be a nut ball thinking he's Batman and then get his head blown apart in the 1st few seconds...

It would take a lot of will power and determination for one man to become a crime fighter.. And THEN we have the police (cops as Americans call them lol) to consider.. They'd be on ur ass 24/7.. So do i think a real life Batman could eventualy exist? I really don't know but my answer tends to sway towards the "NO WAY!!" side of things lol

Do you think they'd actually try to bring him in? If the city was corrupt enough they would need all the help they could get. They might say they were going after him or they wanted to bring him down but that's just to cover their own butts. And besides why go after someone that's trying to help you when there's people trying to steal, kill, and what ever.

Forensic science only catches someone when you can get the right evidence. The only major evidence I'd see a vigilante such as this leaving is DNA, and that only means anything if you have a suspect to connect it to.

It's not really that. Forensics can only really do so much. It's only useful if you have someone to match it to. That's why it's only an aspect of detective work. With a vigilante, it could quite literally be one of millions of people in a city. I mean, in a city like Boston or New York, there can't only be one person with the proper combat training to pull something like that off and the proper mentality to think of atempting it. Really, unless the vigilante leaves a rather large clue, he or she probably wouldn't be caught. At least, not right away.

I remember now...said it was a prototype that wasnt put into production cauz the Army thought that 300,000 bucks was too much to spend on a suit....go figure, aint that nice of them?

Back to the subject though...if one were to take up a crimefighting mantle where would the average joe get something like that BB suit....or a poor mans equivalent? I Googled it for a while but couldnt find anything suitable...and I know that standard bullet-resistant vests are just that...vests. not bodysuits.

Any thoughts?

Actually, I don't think you'd necesairily need to be super rich. If you had the right amount of brains, you could probably make alot of your gadgets out of easy to get over the counter items. The only ones I'd see as overly expensive is the grappling hook/gun, kevlar body armor, a taser, and nightvision goggles. The rest are mostly chemical based weapons, or can be made hand crafted. Both of which could, coneivably, be made with over the counter materials.

Well, it wouldn't be full body, obviously. It could be made of a rather thin kevlar or nylon, with kevlar padding in the apropriate areas.

I know almost nothing about kevlar. Is it flexible or rigid? How easy is it to cut?

Depends on the thickness and weave. It can be flexible enough to wear as a glove, but then it's more or less useless against a bullet. The more expensive hocky gear is made of kevlar, making it tear/cut resistant. What most people don't know is that kevlar vests also have steel plating. The kevlar just gives added protection and helps cusion the hit.
