Real-Life Vigilante-ism: Is it possible?

This again? This vigilantism topic seems to pop up perennially. Leave law enforcement to law enforcement professionals. If you seriously don't see how it's a bad idea, then you have no business engaging in vigilantism.

Funny. I'm training for it. Stamina, strength, agility. I'm also working on a suit. Not a superhero suit. A suit that combines tasers and stun guns. If you kill or injure a crook, you'll be public enemy #1. Hopefully if I can actually get the suit to work, incapacitating the crook is the worst that he'll get.

I know I sounds ridiculous. But if I suceed, you'll see it on late night news.

You should do it, you're vigilante career might not last very long, but I'm sure you'll live on forever as the winner of the Darwin awards for that year.

Why do all these vigilantes have to fight crime in their own city? I prefer the idea of an aid worker in Africa who beats up militiamen, those countries need it more then we do.

I think if he were smart enough, he could avoid prison. There's been several serial killers that police have never caught and several random acts of violence that have never been solved. If lunatics and thugs could do it, so could a good guy.

But the police already have a huge advantage. There would be a known pattern (criminals). One of the biggest reasons serial killers never get caught is because of a lack of connection to victims/pattern in their killings.

Anyway, you'd have a better shot if you were an ex-employee of the government, local or federal...you'd have some idea ofhow things work.

And you need a side kick, some 18 yr old hacker kid you scooped out of a homeless shelter.

I think it could be done. I don't it it would be easy by any streatch of the imagination, and I certainly wouldn't want to try it. But I think it could be done. However, wether or not it's actually a good idea, that's another question entirely.
