recasting Bats and Supes: good idea or bad idea?

We all heard the buzz of recasting Superman and Batman in the JLA film. IMO, that's a good idea because Routh and Bale should be in their own franchises and leave themselves out of the JLA.

^^^ There is nothing to suggest at this point in time that the JLA will be a bad film, furthermore Batman and Superman are more than anyone Actor. They have been portrayed by multiple people spanning their 60+ years.

I'm more than sure out of the millions of actors on the planet At least 2 of those could pull off playing these Icon character as well, if not BETTER than Bale and Routh. t:

I'd much prefer them recast so as to avoid conflict with their other projects, which, at least in the case of Batman 3, should be far superior to any stupid superhero teamup movie.

Really, I wish they'd just let JLA go away. All its going to do is damage the public perception of the current run of both franchises, and when they see major discrepencies in tone, actors, costume, quality etc. are going to become confused and less inclined to see the better more worthy movies in the make.

Well, I think the way Superman and Batman could be portrayed in a JLA film opposed to a solo film could warrant a completely different take on them, and a preformance. So--I don't really care.

y'know...as against doing JLA this quickly as I am...I see it the way WIZARD saw it.

The films for solo characters can be conduits to achieve performances that display the true psychology of the character, hence why Keaton would work for a solo Batman film but never for a JLA film per say.

And on the other hand, a "JLA" film could be set up to solely to put the closest physical representation of the characters on screen.

Let me put it this way...when WIZARD did the fan castings for both a potential Superman film and for Justice League, they cast Spacey as Luthor in "Superman"...but they cast Billy Zane for Luthor in "JLA."

That being said, there's potential in going with casting choices that are more physically pulled from the comic page then, say, Routh. I loved Routh, and I disagree with all the Routh/SR bashers.

But this way the fanboys that were clawing for Jim Caviziel could get their wish in some way...you get what I'm saying?

My problem isn't really with the fact that Bale and Routh aren't in the movie. What frustrates me is that they weren't smart enough to say "Okay, we can't get either of them, but we've still got Flash, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern, so let's replace Batman and Superman with similar characters and move on."

Jesus... Do we really need THREE separate live action incarnations of Superman at the same time?

Casting Routh and Bale would bring the JLA film into continuity with the other live action DC films like Superman Returns and Batman Begins and the Dark Knight film that is being made.
I think casting them as the characters, and maybe even modeling thei'r CG characters after them will help the distancing from the animated serieses (JLU, the Batman, Teen Titans, and Legion) and make it seem a movie of its own.
But they should also consider voice actors for the other roles, and maybe give Routh and Bale voice acting lessons or something,
from what I hear voice acting is harder than just talking in a film. And sometimes actors are cast and they don't have enough range in their voices for the film. (not saying Routh and Bale don't but just in case.)

I think Routh and Bale need to play Superman and Batman.

Yes, and that all depends on timing. It would be a lot easier to do in a CGI movie because people wouldn't see someone else other than Routh or Bale as their respective heroes. The whole thing would be easier with Batman after Nolan's trilogy has been completed.

I voted yes, I'm glad they're recasting them both. It's got nothing to do with whether or not I like them, I just want different actors for different continuity.

I think it's not a really good idea to recast the characters, but I'd like to see Routh as Supes and i did want to see bale as bats, but his attitude on the film is a turn off. As if the man is such a big star and has stared in great films. Bale is just a good actor who's never had a good movie. BR is the movie that I liked the most from him. I've seen a few of his films and they were just OK movies. This man should be glad he still getting work, cuase his films don't make any money.
