I'm not pro the firing. I think it's a harsh decision for, yes, wrong tweets that he made years ago, if that's the case. But the situation is the situation.

Thoughts?

Ralph taking on the role of indestructible double for a high-profile target could work for at least a few episodes, so I nominate Natalie Dreyfuss.

Cisco, of course, would want to call Ralph "Elastigirl", but I'm sure Ralph wouldn't let him finish saying the word.

can, Matthew Lewis, do an american accent?

I say you kill off the character, and replace him with a different character with the exact same persona.
They're pretty much doing that on Batwoman so I would't be surprise if The Flash does the same (of course we don't know if Kate will be killed off or not but you know what I mean)

We know they won't be replacing him with Plastic Man, because that'd be like saying that a person can move on from the bad decisions of his past.

Ironically, the character is capable of transforming his physical appearance to resemble anyone else so they could always come up with an in-universe explanation for why he looks different for next season if they choose to keep the character.

Unpopular opinion, but The Flash has such a bloated cast with unnecessary characters, I'd be happy if the character doesn't return. Get rid of Killer Frost, Cisco's girl friend and put Well's in time out. Have him make less appearances.

Focus more on Barry next season.

Apparently they are killing off Kate Kane next season.

If Berlanti didn't want a soap opera recast for Kate Kane, then what's the likelihood he's going to agree to one for Ralph Dibney? It's more likely he'll be killed off or just leave (possibly with Sue). But the sad thing is that Natalie Dreyfuss would have to suffer the consequence of Sawyer's indiscretions.

They need to introduce a new villain into the next season of the Arrowverse called The Offscreen Killer. His or her victims will be Batwoman and Elongated Man. :o

They will probably want to kill off Ralph offscreen and replace with him Plastic Man since they almost have the same powers :funny:

Having former criminal Patrick "Eel" O'Brian join the team now would be an interesting choice.

It would be weirdly awesome if they did that. Maybe they could bring along Woozy Winks.

I was coming here to say they should keep the character but recast it :)
Elongated Man has fleshed out to be a major character at the show. It will simply be dumb to bring in another DC character to take his place.

With another actor, who's more likable, they can go further away from the Plastic Man persona he (Elongated) had at the beginning. Time for some serious detective stuff.
For comic relief, it's enough with Cisco

Bug Hall? Haven't seen him in about 15 years or so. He did an awful Tobe Hooper horror film, and he was pretty bad in it. Then I gave him up

THE FLASH Showrunner Eric Wallace Reveals How Hartley Sawyer's Elongated Man Will Be Written Out

This is dumb. The character is bigger than the actor and doesn't depend solely on him.

Why couldn't they just recast Elongated Man instead of wrapping his storyline up. Dumb, just dumb! Annoying too.

It can't be that hard to find someone else. Bug Hall, as fan4stic suggested, could work.
Looking at others born 85, what about David Gallagher?

If JH has just strangled somebody instead of doing mean tweets he would still have a job, how screwed up is that?

They're naming a whole street after Kobe Bryant. The same one who strangled, raped, doxxed, **** shamed, apologized to, then paid off a 19 year old woman. The conduct of Kobe's legal team in that scandal was so heinous they changed all the rape shield laws in the state of Colorado.

Meanwhile, Colin Kaepernick got chased out of the NFL for kneeling during a song written by a racist about an immoral war that the US didn't even win.

The world is a stupid and unfair place.

At least they left the door open for the character to returns but whether it will be Harley Sawyer or new actors remains to be seen. I think if Ralph does return then it will be with a new actor. This is interesting as it seemed like Sue wasn't going to be a regular to begin with. Prior to the Sawyer incident happening the actress playing Camilla was made a regular and Sue wasn't. So it's likely that her arc wasn't going to be a long term one. Makes me wonder if they changed plans with her as Wallace did confirm we will see Sue more than once in the upcoming season.

Utterly stupid. If Disney can look beyond James Gunn's incidents, then surely they (the CW/WB) can forgive Hartley?

This wasnt a CW/WB decision, it was the showrunners decision and they dont have to forgive him 5mins after the fact. Not to mention he is a lot more expendable than Gunn.

That's kinda' beyond the point though.

They're recasting his character only to write his character off. Why even bother? Either keep the same actor and write the character off, or recast the character and keep him around.

Why should expendability matter?
