Red Dead Redemption looks like it's going to be an awesome game. :awesome:

I'll wait and get Red Dead Remption instead of getting the new AVP game that is getting bad reviews.

This game looks fantastic! Hopefully I'll be able to play it..

Why would you not be able to play it?

Only own a PC?

Probably not for a while, unfortunately, if Grand Theft Auto IV is any indication of Rockstar's porting schedule. But, on the other hand, it'll probably look a lot prettier on the PC and there's no shortage of stuff to occupy your time during any delay.

Maybe you could go out and get a console and be a real gamer...

Looks like May 18th is the date

As part of its latest financial results report today, Take-Two delayed Red Dead Redemption by several weeks. Previously scheduled to arrive on April 27, the game is now slated to release in North America on May 18 and internationally on May 21. The announcement doesn't specify a reason for the move, though it's worth pointing out that the new date moves Red Dead Redemption out of the publisher's fiscal Q2 (February–April) and into its third quarter (beginning May 1). Update: During an investor call corresponding with the financial report, Take-Two chairman Strauss Zelnick clarified that the delay was issued to extend the game's pre-release marketing period.

Take-Two also notes that financial guidance for its fiscal 2010 has been adjusted to take the date change into account. While Read Dead Redemption was at the center of a controversy concerning developer Rockstar San Diego, a barrage of recent media assets and confirmation of retail pre-order bonuses seems to indicate that development is on track.

Ugh i hate delays. If you arent sure you can make a release date, dont announce one. Its annoying. Ah well, there were a lot of games coming out around that time.

As long as it has a great story, gameplay and bug free, I don't mind waiting a little more, but. . . the sooner it gets released, the better.

While speaking to investors, Take-Two CEO Ben Feder said Red Dead Redemption had been delayed – again – because of “optimal” release schedules. Developers Rockstar say something a little different.

“We at Rockstar have always prided ourselves on the uncompromising quality of our games – and will always opt to take a bit longer to polish and fine-tune a game to be as perfect as possible when we think it necessary” a company representative says. “With Red Dead Redemption, we felt that these extra few weeks will make a big difference in helping us deliver you an experience beyond your expectations.”

Now that sounds a lot more likely. Bit of a double-edged piece of news, this; it’s good that they’re taking the time to polish it a little more, but then, it’s worrying that a game due so soon – and that’s been delayed previously – still needed some work.

I don't mind delays too much with video games. They're big productions and each release is a big deal. I wouldn't want them to squander years of work by rushing to release and giving me a crappy game that I'll be stuck with for the next year or two while they develop the next game.

I have not followed this game at all but Ive seen its name pop up a bit. What exactly is it about. It already has one strike against it for me and that it looks like it takes place in the wild west, but Im sure theres more to it.
