One question, do you have to play Poker in order to continue the game or is it just a minigame, because i don't know how to play poker.

man I love the war horse...that thing is fast! I didnt think Id care for it but it actually has turned into a good extra. I almost felt like I was cheating using it in that early race towards the beginning of the game

no....there is a part in the story where you do have to play a few hands, but it doesn't matter if you win or lose as the game gets interrupted and the poker minigame has step by step instructions

I don't get it either, man. I was picking herbs, doing the survivalist challenges and some guy like level 25 or something kills me. And he spawn camped and killed me five or six more times until I had to switch to another lobby. It's the same way in every game like this. People are just jerks I guess.

Its little kids. Iv come to the conclusion that most nonsense like that is due to little kids. I was playing with my buddy yesterday and he had his friend in and his friend who was like 12, shot me a few times, so i shot him back and he freaks out, *****ing and whining and im like dude, you shot me dont start b***hing because i shot back. Iv also come to the conclusion that most ppl that mod are little twerps like that.

Iv heard a few ppl here say they dont know how to play poker. I suggest learning, its a fun game if you like to gamble. One of the few gambling games that takes some semblance of skill. Plus the poker mini game is fantastic.

I think my fav mini game is Liars Dice. I love that game. Didnt know how to play it until this game.

Poker is surprisingly fun. I doubled my starting chips in one pot, and then squandered the majority of those chips away in stupid hands.

Blackjack sucks, as Blackjack is wont to do.

I wanted to play Liar's Dice, but Thieves' Landing hates me and they shoot at me when I get close. Boo.

Just have to recognize the landmarks I guess. I got the first three pretty easily, but stopped on the fourth because I have a lot of money already.

there's this cool thing called observation....you look at the map and as you travel around look for landmarks that are similar to what you see on the map

Haha yea, i didnt know what the hell was going on in that movie. It took me a match or two here to figure it out but its a really simple game. You just try to guess how many of one particular value on the dice are face up. So if you have 4 dice showing 3, then you know for a fact there are at least 4 dice showing 3 and you can wager on that, if someone thinks there are less than 4 dice showing 3, they call you a liar. Everyone shows their dice and if the total number of dice showing 3 is more than your original wager(which was 4) the individual calling your bluff loses a dice. The last player with all their dice wins. I love how each player is different in the game. I played against one guy who would constantly lie and i caught him damn near every time. Then another time one of my opponents would never lie, every time i called him out, i lost. So i learned to just stop calling his bluff.


So has anyone figured out the duel system? Is it possible to just pick one spot on the enemy and fire? I wanna know if its possible to just shoot the gun out of an enemies hand. it seems like the game forces you to pick multiple spots instead of allowing you to place one strategic spot, ie the enemies gun hand or forehead.

Yea iv only done a handful as well, not counting duels done via the story. Altho, i dont mind it, it might get annoying having a ton of ppl stop you, challenging you to a duel. Altho i wish there was like a duel tourny, like you could sign up for a duel and fight multiple ppl on the way to a big cash reward, that would be pretty neat.

A duel tourny would be awesome. I just wish there was a balance of duels in western games; Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood over did it where as Red Dead isn't doing it enough, Neither game lets you go one on one onine.

The more famous you are, the more duels you get. Everyone wants to make a name for themself lol.

I've played Poker for like 2 hours and 90% of my wins are from bluffs hahah, pushing them all-in when you have a high card of 4 at the flop and having everyone fold is glorious.

Anyways, as if the NPCs getting off their horses to take a leak and the occasional Wilhelm scream from enemies you just shot wasn't enough... I just jumped off the bar balcony onto my horse's saddle.
