Red Dead Redemption

Oh, yes....there will be blood.:awesome:

I bought this game earlier this week, and it's taken over my life. As one of the few people you played Red Dead Revolver on the PS2 and loved it, I knew that if they went a certain direction it could be brilliant. When I heard there was gonna be a sandbox style sequel, I knew I was buying it.

Glad I did.

I was playing earlier and watched as a stagecoach was travelling down a railroad only to see a train come by and slam into it. All I saw was blood and gore spill over. Surprisngly the 2 people in it survived but the horses didnt

Speaking of which, the horses can be so annoying. I hate whistling for them, only to have them run away from me as I get close and try to mount them

So I don't know if any of you guys heard, but R* are releasing a patch to fix all the bugs, and as a reward for us putting up with them, they're releasing the savvy merchant outfit and the master hunter outfit as free DLC (They're the other outfit's that were going to be pre-order DLC alongside the assassins outfit)

The only thing I don't like about this game is the lack of any kind of local multilplayer. Nothing beats having some friends over and shooting it out.

I spent over an hour looking around for one treasure. I hate the ones that dont even tell you were ou need to be looking. I was searching for some rock formation but unless you've ran into into before and thought it looked special and unique, you wouldnt know where to begin searching. All I know is that its in Mexico which doesnt help much considering how large it is.I'll try again later

I know I'll look it up myself but I would appreciate a source for that info.

I hope you are right; I'd love to get some free DLC for RDR.

haha took a couple of days off from playing this game...I was so into it. I shall finish the main story hopefully on sunday.

cant wait for the free stuff

I had a feeling they'd release those outfits sooner or later.

And hooray for fixing the bugs. I've run across a couple awful ones... One time, I had to restart the mines mission because I got stuck taking cover. Another time, also while taking cover, I was launched 100ft up in the air and then fell straight down to my death in Tumbleweed.

Haha yea iv heard of some nasty bugs appearing in the game, but in 45+ hours, the ONLY bug iv encountered was when the piano player at the Armadillo saloon stood up, he stood up on top of his piano.

That's pretty lucky. That bug wouldn't bother me at all, because it wouldn't affect gameplay, but a few I've run into have which is really annoying. The two I mentioned, plus another time my horse disappeared into the side of a hill. Wasn't too bad, he showed up after a minute or two of whistling, though I was doing a bounty at the time.

I havent run into any major bugs. I saw some guy sitting down on some log who got up and then sat on air. Aside from that, Ive had John's arm partically go into a wall, but nothnig that broke the game. Maybe they can fix the issue with your horse running away from you when you whistle for it bc that can be annoying

So I beat the main storyline and I'm now playing [BLACKOUT]as Jack, so is it me or does he die easier than John? Like he takes a lot less damage.[/BLACKOUT]

I've encountered so many bugs with this game. Several forced me to reload saves.

One was a mission in Mexico, I was supposed to follow that military guy down to the coach and ride shotgun, he never went to the coach he just sat there on his horse at the top of the hill.

It took me turning the game on and off so I could fix an issue where John would sit down at a poke table, sit for a few seconds, and then stand back up without doing anything.

After shooting a guy who was kidnapping a woman, the framerate dropped significantly and stayed there (even during a cutscene).

The game has also gotten stuck in a few loading screens. The revolver logo was just spinning forever. Shutting off my PS3 during a loading screen makes me a little nervous.

I haven't encountered any fun glitches like the mule-woman or bandito dog.

I really like the game, but another month of QA wouldn't have hurt it.

I had my share of glitchs even in through the first couple of hours, like the piano player standing on top of the piano, people appearing out of nowehere, me failing and completing my missions at the same time, and of course my stallion turning into that wagon with horses( not kidding).

Last night I finally figured out how not to allow the arrow swing down to the red area on the wheel, thus I was able to cheat successfully in Poker. I played Hold 'Em until 4am in the morning, I was finally able to clear out everyone at the Poker table in Armadillo. I found it hard to win without cheating though, but maybe it is because I'm just not good at Poker.

I haven't done any bounty just yet, and I'm wondering if I should upgrade my guns first. I'm still using the weapons I got when I started out, and I was going to buy the Volcanic revolver at $100 but changed my mind in the last second. What guns should I buy? I only have about $200 on me (after winning that Poker game).

Buy every gun you come across. Money will never be a problem so long as you do bounties and look for treasures.

I guess I have to start buying the treasure maps, then.

I was able to clear out the Armadillo table mainly by going all in and bluffing most of the time. I am having trouble winning at the Blackwater poker table, those guys don't kid around, though I did manage to get the High Roller achievement during a game there, before getting wiped out.
