Big fan of Solomon Kane. Same director, strong lead, and it looks decent. I'm definitely in.

Solomon Kane! That was a fun movie. So annoying that the only way I ever got to see it was in 10-minute installments on YouTube. But a good adaptation of the character and a much better film than that crappy Conan reboot with Momoa.

This movie looks like DTV trash, but it might be fun in a schlocky so-bad-its-good kind of way.

It looks like a low-budget DTV sequel version of the last Conan the Barbarian movie.

Tickets for the one day only theatrical release go on sale today. August 13th is the release date. I've seen no explanation why it went from what seemed to be a actual limited release to one day only. I'm guessing the Digital release is still on the 29th. I've also seen a September 8th UK release date for the Blu Ray. Last time I looked I didn't see a US Blu Ray release date but that was a couple of weeks ago.

Sadly I think this movie will come and go and nobody will really notice.

I know two ppl who actually saw a screening of this. lol

They actually liked it, despite the low budget and bad cgi at times. Lutz is mvp, but the bad guy is pretty damn good. Eh, I will definitely rent this on release.

If you live in the US it was only in theaters one day which was August 13th and I have no clue about outside the US. It comes out on digital on August 29th I think it is.

[Primal Slayer]

Watched it. It was fairly meh. Looked good for the most part but the story was fairly basic and needed to be more heightened/special/a little bit more mythic.

Yeah this very meh unfortunately. Solomon Kane was a much better movie. Lutz is great in the main role and in fantastic shape, and Sheehan gobbles the scenery as the villain, but not much really happens of consequence.

The rivalry with Wallis Day's character eventually amounts to nothing. As does some other side character arcs. You end up with a good connection between Sonja and the villain but plenty of the story just doesn't play out very well or feels rushed. I would absolutely watch a sequel or TV show with Lutz in the lead. But I don't see this movie gaining enough of a following to get it.
