The Dark Knight Rises Release date for the TDK Sequel; July 20, 2012

Well this is cool. I get Batman 3 and Hobbit 1 in the same year .

I assume they're going to start shooting now since Bale is still looking early 30s.

I wonder if he has even begun getting back into shape since filming "The Fighter"*

*he looks like. Skinny crack head in "The Fighter"

More like Batman 3 and the new Spider-Man in the same year. :awesome:

As excited as I am to see a Hobbit film, I'll believe it when I see it. It's been so long since RotK, the mainstream audience has probably lost it's mania for Middle-Earth movies. :/

He's on he's way.

This year will be crowded for sure. But I will have nerd overload with this Trek 2, and hopefully the new Spidey will be good.

But overall no movie will be more anticipated by me than this. I really wonder if Sony will rethink what they are doing, but they really have limited time left with the Spidey franchise or it defaults back to Marvel I think.

But that The Hobbit, Trek and Batman in the same year? Wow.

Love it!

Shows that WB's and Nolan aren't scared of some high school musical Twilight version of Spidey being released almost 3 weeks ahead of Batman 3!

:hehe:

hey now, we don't know if it's going to be a "twilight version of spidey" just yet. Im looking forward to it, just as much as im looking forward to hobbit, trek 2, avengers...it's shaping up to be one geeky summer.

They won't have the confidence for this spidey considering it's a major reboot, theyll be better off pushing it at the end of summer in august, or take themselves a risk and making it a christmas holiday movie, it's too close to avengers to put it early and it dosen't want to touch the most anticipated sequel to the 2nd highest grossing film of all time. Star Trek will move as well, no matter how well the first one did. Essentially the power of the bat will cause waves with those release dates.

oh my god, 2012 is going to be so amazing.

Now, what I want to know more than anything, is who the villains are going to be.

The joke's on everyone, the world will end just moments before B3 is released. :(

In all seriousness, it's strange they never mentioned Nolan. You'd think an official acknowledgment of the film would include its director at the very least. Probably nothing, but it stood out.

Wasn't Nolan announced in summer 2006 for TDK along with the title and Ledger as the Joker? I think that's probably what they will do again. Sometime this summer we will get the title, the big name actor/villain, and Nolan.

I can't wait! I just wanna know now who the villians will be!!

well now that we have a release date, we'll know when the virals are gonna start..SDCC 2011 baby haha!:hoboj:

If I was to hazard a guess it's probably more to with not taking focus away from Inception. Besides, we all know how Nolan likes to keep things close to the chest.

Ahem, you mean vest. This is Christopher "The Vest" Nolan we are talking about here. :oldrazz:

GREAT NEWS GUYS! Officially confirmed. Seemed like the day would never come. Bring on the virals! Can't wait to hype with you guys for the next two years!

2012 is going to be the biggest year since 2003 in terms of Geek-friendly films.

The Joker is the main villain. The actor is signed.
Don't ask questions just wait for Comic Con this year to get your confirmation.

If that's the case, there will be a lot of skepticism towards the movie. The main issue is making sure that the movie doesn't feel like a rehash.

I'm all for a return of The Joker, but I can't picture Nolan using him as the main villain again.
