Nice, a 4 year wait (well, 2 years now). Apparently and hopefully Jonah Nolan and Goyer have already been working on the main ideas (at least) since 2008, which gives them one more year of brainstorming.

Very nice, just like we all thought. 2012 is allowing them more prep time to build new sets, hopefully a fully functioning batcave and a few new vehicles, the new batmobile and either a flight or water vehicle.

I'm glad they're sticking with the late July slot - that'll surely be the latest BIG release of the summer, effectively making it the one everything else builds up to. I have a strong feeling Avengers will be a let down.

That's how it works. They set up the schedule of pre-production, shooting and post-production and they figure out the release date.

Hehe, I just realized that each of Nolan's Batman films are released after I've graduated from a level of school. BB came out after elementary graduation, TDK after middle school, and now the third entry will come out after high school graduation.

When the sequel was originally written, the Joker was to return and the story was supposed to be the trial of the Joker.

this is the route I would have liked for it to go
