Remakes that SHOULD be made.

I was flipping through channels the other day and came across an old 80s movie, The Terminal Man. I remember reading the book and loving the ever-loving crap out of it for its realistic premise, but really the book and especially the movie suffer in their portrayal of computer technology. Imagine if that movie were made today, how gritty, realistic, relevant and awesome it could be. Man, it would be sweet. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone else knows of any films that would make great remakes, I know this thread has probably been made before about a dozen thousand times but I don't care. :csad:

- Clash of the Titans
- The Shadow

People are going to throw rocks at me for this but...

A Clockwork Orange

Blade 3
The Shining (Stephen Dorff would be an awesome Jack)

Wizard of Oz(Which is happening)
Not really a remake but a sequel to Killer Klowns from Outer Space would be great.

The Punisher and Ghost Rider stand out in my mind. War of the Worlds as well. I like Spielberg's version, but it could've been so much better.

an Evil Dead remake would be sweet, don't know if they could get anyone better to play ash tho....

The Shadow was a movie that, while flawed, was ahead of its time. Making a new version today could really be something special. I hope it gets made.

I just don't think thats possible, nor is it a good idea.

One you wont have Malcolm McDowell as Alex. His performance is what made the character memorable. IMO

Two you wont have Stanley Kubrick who's visual style and direction for the film is yet another thing that makes it what it is. So I'm going with a big no on this remake.

What do you guys think of a Back To The Future remake?

I wouldn't like it but I just want to see what you all think.

jurassic park. make it just like the book and more violent/gory

C.H.U.D.
The Stuff
More Return Of The Living Dead movies like the first 2 instead of ones like the crappy parts 4 & 5.

Most of Hollywood is stupid. I don't get the logic behind remaking good films. The only films that should be remade are old ones with good ideas behind them but bad execution. What the hell is the point of remaking a good film!?!

I think it's blasphemy just to MENTION such a thing.

A couple people on this thread have already mentioned The War of the Worlds. Ever since I read that book I've wanted not a remake of the movie (any of the movies) but a complete reimagining of the novel, that actually follows the plot of the book and is set during the turn of the 20th century. I've hated every film adaptation I've ever seen of that H.G. Wells masterpiece.
