1) poor allocation of funds and resources that could be used for original projects
2) When I talk about the original, people think Im talking about the remake (which they are actually a fan of) and never realize what they are watching has already been done.
3) They encourage the stereotypes of Hollywood filmmaking like dependency on lead actors notability, dumbing down interesting and/or controversial issues, and relying on brainless visuals instead of GOOD storytelling
Theres been exceptions like any rule. They are nitpicky responses but theres more and more bland movies and less and less really great cinema. Remakes are partly to blame.
This has happened to me before.
