Jourmugand said:Its odd actually.Bush has most Republicans on a leash, and now the leaders are saying that he broke the law.How pathetic for Bush..
Spider-Bite said:you know if you think your country will benefit from you staying in office instead of the opponent taking your place, then are you really spineless for sacrificing one or two issues in order to secure more important issues?
Is it spineless to pick and choose your battles carefully?
hippie_hunter said:Come on, this is f**king Congress here, how long has it been since they have actually talked about an IMPORTANT issue. Banning gay marriage and flag burning aren't what I would call an important issue.
It makes you look weak because you side with the weak. The weak appears weak because they won't support their weak leader, making them look even weaker.
I'm just saying that right now the Republicans are in a crappy position. They're damned because they're the party of Bush but they're also damned because they don't even support their own leader.
Duh, that's what I am saying. They aren't distancing themselves from Bush over philosophical differences. They want to distance themselves from Bush because he's a poison. That poison hurts votes. However that distancing makes their party look weak, which isn't attractive to voters either. Their in a really f**ked position because both ends are going to screw them over in the mid-term electionsSpider-Bite said:the republicans don't do it to protect the important issues, they do it to stay in office so they can get rich off bribes and lobbying.
Please don't tell me that you actually beleive that the Democrats stand for that. We can say the same for ANY politican. I feel that the Democrats are just as out of touch, if not more, from the American peope like the Republicans. Just like the "extreme" right has taken over the Republicans, the "extreme" left has done the same to Democrats. I feel that they are more fake than the Republicans (mostly because of Hillary Clinton and John Kerry). What the Americans need is a new party that actually has a chance of winning elections over Republicans and Democrats, a moderate party.some democrats do the same thing, but some stay in office so that world peace will at least have a chance of existing some day, and maybe someday poverty, depression, prejudice, biggetry, and everything horrible in the world can cease to exist.
