Just a few things. When reporting something can we do this:

*spoiler*- if it's actually a spoiler. Like New information that might be something someone might not want to know.

*confirmation*- proof of a fact. Such as saying venom is in the movie.

Also...Give the film a chance. So much negativity. You must have liked something about the last films. Hence your being here. And if you didn't and don't like this one, what's the point of complaining? So just wait. What's best for the series and what's best for the movie are different. Complain when they obliterate the comics. But not yet.

What are we doing now...

:D

I would request no more threads just asking a question....."so do you think MJ will die?"

and

People post pictures and news in an established thread to see if it's actually new, and if it is, they can still get to post a new thread, if it isn't, than they will know almost instantly....

I request that people who dislike anyone involved in Spider-Man 3 have their own threads to complain in. It would make these boards a whole lot more orginized.

I have a request or two. Seeing as this is a spoiler forum, lets have some acual spoiler threads instead of all these lame fanboy ideas/wishes.

Stop creating threads when one on the same topic already exists. (already mentioned above). Read a little before you post!!!

Don't let the past repeat itself. With Superman Returns just around the corner, its inevitable that the trolls will be here saying their movie rocked and how Spider-Man is gonna suck. We saw it with Batman Begins, we don't need to see it again.

And a request for the mods (like they ever come in here anymore). Please place some restrictions on new accounts so the noobs will stop with all the stupid threads.

There already IS a picture thread that has been very active for the last 3 months.....180,000 views later and still growing....

Hah, hell yea.
As for the mods making restrictions on new accounts, NO. This is a PUBLIC fourm, and EVERYONE who signs up has the right to post.

Why because people might say you are one? The fact of the matter is that Powder man is not going to post redundant threads, he's not going to make fanboy wishes or speculation. He's only ever given us the facts he even had a FAQ made for the film, I don't know if it's still on the front page or not, but it was helpful and a good start...

Gladiator is also a valued member of the community...I haven't seen a lot of his posts but the ones I did see were good and important.

Symbotica, Doc Ock.....all of the people who have been here longer then like a month or two, aren't the majority of people making the same threads over and over. It actually is like 85-90% "n00bs".

The requests so far, I agree with. People should post in a centralized general thread. And no more posts should be made that are questions. Because that's what the "non-spoiler" thread is for.

And their should be restrictions or rules on "n00bs" because of the above.

Yeah and like she said, there should be a "I hate/doubt/am skeptical of/ SM3" thread. For organization.

Regarding Spoilers:

1 - DON'T SAY THE SPOILER IN THE THREAD TITLE. There are other ways to access the forums that could show that title to someone who doesn't want to see it... and they don't have to be in the 'spoilers' forum... so just don't do it.

2 - You can use spoiler tags:
text[/ spoiler ] Simply remove the spaces in the second one.

Don't tell others how they must think and what they can think when. If people have concerns about this film they are more than welcome to express them here.

No. We are not little babies who each need our own place to be so that we don't see anything we don't want to. If you don't like what someone is saying... ignore them (you can even add them to your ignore list so you don't see their posts). Even if they respond to something you posted, you are NOT obligated to respond to them.

This is a forum that can include both spiler and non-spoiler material. The restriction is that spoiler material MUST be posted in here, not that everything in here must be spoilers.

It is helpful if people read a little before they post, but sometimes people see things that excite them and want to share, so they register and post. There's really no harm in it and it is generally well-intentioned. It will get merged, deleted or dropped off-page eventually. I suggest you grow some thicker skin and just deal with the fact that the forum is not going to be 'exactly how you want it at all times'. It is, however, a different story if the same person is doing it repeatedly.

The people here reading this thread are not the people that would be doing what you suggest. The best advice is to first of all, don't respond to people who do that and second, report the thread to a moderator (either using the 'report post' button or via PM).

That's not going to happen. Deal with it.

Stop telling people how to post. You can't control them, so stop trying.

You can't realistically expect someone to go through every page of some of those large threads to look if something has been posted before. People are excited to share with others what they've found. That's actually a GOOD thing. It's not something that should be discouraged.

As I said above: Learn to deal with the fact that there will be some duplication sometimes and that it's O.K. It will get taken care of eventually, and if you want it taken care of sooner, rather than berating the poster who did it, simply hit the 'report post' button and for reason say "Duplicate, please merge" or something to that effect. Either that, or PM a moderator with links to the two threads you think should be merged.

I'm sorry, but that's unlikely to happen. We don't have that much control over how people post, nor should we.

Everyone was a n00b once. At least two of the people you mentioned were not great posters when they started out... and I seem to recall finding you an annoying n00b when you first arrived as well.

The requests so far, I agree with. People should post in a centralized general thread. And no more posts should be made that are questions. Because that's what the "non-spoiler" thread is for.

Wrong. See my previous post

I'm not trying to deny anyone of posting. I would just like to see all of the useless threads end. For example, how many 4th villian threads have there been this week when there is an "official 4th villian" thread? 99.9% of the time its either being discussed in the "official" thread or is just plain stupid. Don't you remember the "1st Venom vs Spidey Pics' thread? 2 kids in halloween costumes!?! Yeah, it may be a little funny, but not in the spoiler forum. Theres a place for everything, just make sure it finds its way there.

First of all there are no 'official' threads unless they're created by the site management.

Second, like I said. Learn to cope with things not being as you like them 100% of the time. There are a lot of people on this site, using this forum. They are not going to conform to your way of posting or your idea of 'organized'.

Finally, you don't get to decide what the place is for things. As I've already said.... the spoilers form isn't only for spoilers. The reasoning behind the spoiler/non-spoiler forums is 100% the opposite of what you are thinking. It is so that there is a NON-SPOILER forum for folks who don't want to be spoiled, not so that there is a forum just for spoilers.

It's like the whole 'all squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares' thing. All threads eligible for the non-spoilers forum may be posted in the spoilers forum, but not all threads eligible for the spoilers forum may be posted in the non-spoilers forum.

Jokes are perfectly acceptible here. Yeah they may be dumb to you, but others may find them amusing.

Thank you for being a voice of reason and common sense. It KILLS me when someone posts something that everyone considers a 'stupid post by a noob' and instead of ignoring it and letting the thread die, they keep it alive for pages and pages insulting the person while complaining that it should be closed! If they want it closed, why do they keep posting in it? Rediculous!

IMO if, when someone posts, say, something that they say is a 'spoiler' when in fact it has been posted before, you get upset to the point that you have to insult them, you may want to consider how seriously you're taking this whole thing. I mean, it's supposed to be fun!

I do hate the word nOOb though!
LOL

-Annoying maybe. But I shared different opinions then everyone else. So they were trying to bite my head off for not agreeing. Most of that probablly came because I was a "n00b" and therefore they felt I shouldn't be talking about what they knew "so much more" about.-

Wrong. See my previous post

-I hadn't seen your post when I posted-

No one restricted you when you first arrived. Why should others now be restricted?

-I don't mean a restriction that literally blocks them. I mean like a rule kind of thing. Like a rule to read everything first before posting. And like you said, if they continue to make redundant posts then they'd be dealt with in some way. I don't know...But also I joined during the hype of SM2, right? I don't remember making redundant posts or that kind of stuff. Though you're probablly right, I can't argue that because I don't remember.-

If you want a forum organized in such a way and want restrictions on who can post when... go create your own forums.
-I had. I had been on other forums. Everything...And I'm not trying to tell you how to mod anything or "telling people what to think", I'm saying what would be a good way to not clutter the forums. It's what other people have been saying for a while. I'm not just saying something random that only I believe.
Regardless...It's a request to other members. I'm basically saying "please, don't do this.." I'm not a mod and I'm not trying to be one. But when you're looking for info and people are just cluttering up for no reason, it's kind of annoying after a while. You said above that people have a right to state their opinion, yet you seem against the fact that I'm expressing my opinion on this. Isn't this the SM3 spoilers section? So what's the point of topics that aren't spoilers or anything even relevant. You talked about what I've done. But I've stayed relevant to the topic. You said that you remember me as being an annoying n00b, right? So I must have made these same mistakes. So I'm not now. And in a way I'm stopping these guys from people thinking they are annoying.-

It's whatever you say. You're the mod here. And I'm not trying to be smart or sarcastic or whatever. But I just think it would be better to keep things organized and have the newer members or anyone else stay organized themselves then leave it to the mods. No one commits crimes and just waits for the police to clean it up. Most people just stay legal and the police come in if things are extremely out of hand. That's what I thought it was like here. We govern ourselves, follow the rules you guys made, and if we don't then we get talked to and dealt with.

That's why I said their should be a restriction/rule....Because they'd do it themselves and then if they don't then you would come in and deal with it. instead of letting it continue to happen.

Man this sucks. Last time I made a thread simular to this it got closed. It was just about giving Raimi a chance. Alot of people gave me crap.

Daisy said:

I know. When I said official, I was meaning like "the" place to talk about a particular character/subject instead of having to go to 4 or 5 different threads to read other peoples thoughts on the same subject. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Second, like I said. Learn to cope with things not being as you like them 100% of the time. There are a lot of people on this site, using this forum. They are not going to conform to your way of posting or your idea of 'organized'.

I don't understand what you're trying to say with your analogy, but it doesn't really matter.

I think you're missing the point (don't feel bad, you're not the first). Your idea of how it should be 'organized' is not the ONLY way. You think there should be a thread for "I hate/doubt/am skeptical of/ SM3". Others think that threads should be topical... i.e. 'the black suit look', 'Gwen being in the film', etc. and people should post their opinions - pro or con - on a particular topic/issue, not just have a 'doubters' thread.

Personally, since I know that long threads are part of what causes people to post new threads on the same topic (who wants to read 25 pages or more to see if something's been posted before? I generally don't.), I prefer to have threads topical with people expressing their opinions about particular topics... not simply grouping like opinions together.

Also, what you don't seem to understand is that in most cases, it's not the same person posting redundancies over and over. When that happens we do take care of it. When a new person comes in, however, and posts something that's already got a thread, cut them some slack. They're doing it because they're excited about something and want to share it with others they think will be excited about it too. That's part of what these boards are for.

As I said, you weren't restricted from making newbie mistakes. It's only now that you're on the 'other side' that you want them restricted. Try to remember that those that were here before you had to put up with your newbieness when you first arrived. It's just time for you offer the same 'courtesy' to the next round of newbies.

Okay, I have a question:

Seriously, why isn't the FAQ stickied? It is on the Ghost Rider forums, and they've got FIVE stickied threads on the FF2 forum??

Not trying to bug you Dais, just a question.

1. Mirko (SuperHeroHype!) generally doesn't like stickies, so I try not to use them unless absolutely necessary and then only for short periods of time. Also, I agree with Mirko - I don't care for them either (that makes it easy for me to not use them :o). I don't know why they've been allowed to remain in other forums. It may be because those forums were so 'out-of-hand' there was no other solution. I don't see that being the case here.

2. Each form has it's own 'culture'. They don't have to be (nor do I believe should they be) all the same. The Spidey Forums has never had a 'culture of stickies', and I don't think one should be started.
