I felt the movie went out of its way to have trippy visuals. Halfway through I was saying, "Yes I get it. You like the formalist approach to filmmaking. Can we start with some characterization and story now?" I didn't find it brilliant. I didn't find it disturbing. I didn't find it depressing, and I sure as hell didn't find it entertaining. Overrated film.

Has anyone seen this film starring Ellyn Burstyn, Jared Leto, Jennifer Connelly, and Marlon Waynes? It depicts drug addiction like I've never seen before. Its a great film but VERY disturbing. I couldn not stop thinking about it the rest of the day. A very depressing film in a way. All drug addicts should watch this movie!!

I haven't seen it in a while. I remember liking it a lot, but it being horribly depressing. Christopher McDonald's performance was funny, though.

the last minutes were reallly .............disturbing. the music,sound effects and the footage at the end was amazing and disturbing.
i wonder how much did he edited out? i just have a feeling that the MPAA rated first this movie n-17
