Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles

That really needs a visual improvement and shouldn't be a straight up port if it's released on Archives.

The temptation to make a Wii joke right now...

Anyway, tell that to Capcom LAST gen. RE2 IS getting a graphical overhaul, its called Darkside Chronicles. There's no chance we'll see a full RE2 remake anytime soon, and definitely not under the Archives title.

At least Darkside Chronicles gives us the much requested facelift. Now I hope that the Scenarios aren't as short as they were in the last game. The last game was fun, but they wasted a lot of opportunities.

Those graphics are barely better than N64. For all the **** it takes, the Wii is capable of better graphics than that.

Darkside Chronicles isn't RE2. Just because it won't get a visual improvement under the Archives line doesn't mean it shouldn't.

Do you take everything this literally?

Yes, I know the Wii is capable of better graphics than that.

Yes, I know DC isn't RE2.

It's hard to detect sarcasm online unless a smiley is used and I hate the Wii jokes. They're almost 3 years old now.

Just saw the trailer after Brian Clevinger dropped it on his Twitter. Gotta say, I can't remember the last time I was actually psyched for a RE game like this. I honestly think it was RE3. Now I just wish I had a Wii.

Have you not played RE4? That''s even more reason to get a Wii since the Wii version is the best. All the content of the PS2 version with 3 controller options (Wiimote/nunchuk, classic controller, GC controller). And if you refuse to use anything but the PS2 controller, you can buy a GC-PS2 adapter on eBay for less than $5.

I did a quick run through on a rental. I was less than impressed. Its not a terrible way to spend a few hours, but I feel like Capcom would've been better served making some sort of different Resident Evil side story because in the end, Krauser's turn to evil, just isn't a story I cared much to hear. He was a minor character who really was sort of insignificant in the grand scheme of things and the fact that his turn was such a main focus really turned me off. At least UC focused on the downfall of Umbrella, something we all wanted to know about. I don't think Krauser's fall to darkness is really something I cared about or needed to know in more detail.

I played RE4 a little on the GC, and a little on the PS2, and a little on the PC. Controls were great, but it didn't FEEL like RE, you know? It was the Doki Doki panic reskin of the RE franchise, I think. Still a great game, but it didn't flow right with me as a RE game.

You gotta play through it all though. It's awesome. I'm already playing it a 2nd time. I have NEVER immediately replayed a game that took me over 10 hours to beat the first time.

I will eventually. It had a lot of good points, make no mistake. I do plan on getting it again for the PS2.

I need to get my hands on this game and the Umbrella Chronicles. They're all thats missing from my RE collection. I have a question though: Is this game easier to play with the gun add on for the Wiimote or can you play fine without it?

OK, since there is NO Resident Evil game from the series for XboX, here we go: You can get Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 4 (you have to get them actually, since they're great games to have). You can also buy The Suffering and The Suffering 2: Ties That Bind, which are closer to RE concerning the violence and the constant fighting (Silent Hill is more psychological). You can also get Fatal Frame and Fatal Frame 2 (maybe the most atmospheric full of ghosts games I have ever met in my life). Finally, for more fighting and RE-type of puzzles but less survival horror, you can try Genma Onimusha (also from Capcom), which is a fantastic game. Have in mind that all these games are NOT copies of RE, but are the likes of a personal like me, that Silent Hill and Resident Evil are my whole life, so probably you'll like them too.
