RESPECT the CYCLOPS Thread!

Yeah, I know. I searched up Cyclops X-men for some pics to post here and this was what I got.
I will admit that their Beast and Wolverine look awesome though. Cyclops' alright too.

Aaaanyway

I always wonder what all the pouches were for in this one? Spare ruby quarts lenses or something? It's not like Scott ever pulled out a baterang of something..

he keeps his spare kotex in there

It's not horrible, but there's too much unnecessary crap and, at the time Scott wore it, I felt it made him seem like he was trying to go "dark" and be more bad boyish like Gambit or Wolverine. Scott's not Gambit or Wolverine, and rightly so.

He wasn't trying to go dark, so much as he was dark. Or, darker then he has been in the past. It was right after he had separated from Apocalypse, so he was a little grumpy. Also, I think the actual costume design had more to do with the movie then anything else.

I've been looking to make a Cyclops costume for a while...long story short, this one made the short list of designs because I needed a place for my wallet, keys, phone, etc. I started to think that, since Cyclops isn't so a much a vigilante as a member of a special force team, he's definitely be able to carry things on him that any normal person would carry -phone, photo ID, water, car keys, cellphone, money, etc.

So maybe that explains the pouches.

Y'know, I think a lot of people go through the phases.

When they're young and new to comics, they're drawn to Wolverine. They think it's so cool that he doesn't play by anyone else's rules.

Then, as you get older, you realize how cliché Wolverine's character really is. It's at that point where you find your real favorite X-Man. And for me, and almost everyone else in here, it's Cyclops.

Eh. Cyclops will always be my second. I honestly never was much a fan of Wolverine till I read Weapon X. That's what did it for me. People care about that "man of mystery" crap but I really couldn't care less wether his history is known or how "badass" he seems. It's this whole Frankenstein's Monster adjusting to civilized society aspect that I'm interested in. Cyclops is definately close for me though. :woot:

For me, Colossus follows closely behind.

Don't get me wrong, I still like Wolverine, and I'd read a Wolverine story any day of the week. But as an X-Man, he's not my favorite anymore.

There are a lot of great X-Men. But I suppose when you have so many, it's only natural that you hit the extremes - awesome characters and characters that make you want to tear your eyes out.

Nightcrawler? Awesome. Cannonball? Go die.

Exactly.

And I don't strongly dislike her, but I think Storm gets way too much credit.

I like Storm actually. To me she's Cyclops' female equivalent. The teams are really better when it's Cyclops leading team A and Storm leading team B. Maybe Bishop or Cable leading another one because I hate seeing them follow other people's orders. You have two war heroes, former generals, and they're taking backseats to people that haven't seen half the action that they have. At least with Wolverine I'm okay with it because he seems way too laid back to be leading anybody. Just point him somewhere and shoot.

...Havoc and Iceman do absolutely nothing for me. I mean I like frickin Angel more.

Gambit is another character that I wouldn't say I dislike, but he gets too much credit.

I don't like Havoc either, but Iceman, IMO, depends upon the interpretation. He can go either way, and he's either hit or miss.

Gambit I'll admit I like for the same shallow reasons that everybody else does. :oldrazz: Guy's an acrobat with a staff and throws cards that blow up. Plus there's that super thick cajun accent. I used to read titles just because he was in it.

This photo of Hulkster was taken just after his last post last night:

Looks like he's well out of that closet, now.

Lol, I'm not American.:woot: Nice.Try.Jones. But you fail again.:woot: And btw you don't look good in that picture, Jones.:down

Here's a picture of the X-men to get back on topic.

Who drew that? I like.

(Even if Kitty looks a little man-ish. :o)

It's John Cassaday.

I agree Kitty does look like a man.:woot:

Here's another picture of the X-men.

One has to wonder why you're NOT reading Astonishing X-men.
One really does.

I don't really read any X-Men comics anymore. But if I get the time, I should definitely get caught up with Astonishing.

Yeah same here about not reading much X-men. I gave up on most of them and apparantly I happened to do that RIGHT when things got good. So I need to pick up the hardcovers for the recent X-men and Uncanny X-men run.
