I hope they start this franchise over also. And with Marvel new Movie production company this might actually happen.
Not that the movies we have now are bad movies (well the first one is) but they have taken too many liberties with the chronology, the look and storylines of the X-men lore. Mainly making these movies a vehicle for Wolverine.
I call these movies:
Wolverine and his X-friends.
But if they can restart Batman begins in 8 years since 'Batman and Robin' (Ugh, pains me just to say that movie title) then maybe they can do it with the X-Men. here's how I hope they go....
Starting off with a movie that's an adaptation of Giant Size X-Men # 1 (1975) where the new group (Wolverine, Storm, Colossus,nightcrawler) has to rescue the orginal group (Angel, an iced-up Iceman, and although Beast wasn't in the story through him in for good measure but make him in his original human form).
Change it to where it's Magneto (along with the Brotherhood) who has the orginal team in Jeopary and have Proff X recruit the new members to go save them. And make it where we know Cyclops is the leader and central part of the group like the comics and not Wolverine.
But the end will be the old group "passing the touch" to the new with only Jean and Scott staying on the new group. a side story of Bolivar Trask introducing the prototype for Sentinels to Senators who are worried abour "evil" mutants.
the title will simply be: The Uncanny X-Men
And this time put the traditional uniforms on the X-Men, old and new team. Change them a little here and ther to make them look more comtempory and look better on the big screen but
NO BLACK LEATHER, BATMAN WANNA-BE, S & M, TIGHT FITING STUPID SUITS!
I want to See Storm in a silver clad bikini suit (and someone with the body to fill it out), Colosuus in his red and Yellow outfit, and yes,
I WANT TO SEE YELLOW SPANDEX ON WOLVERINE (and his mask) And cast it more closer to the comics characters i.e. A SHORT wolverine, a Russian Colosuss, an African Storm.
Have the sequel be and mixture of the story of Jean dying and being resurrecting as the Phoneix and saving the universe when Lilliandra brother was going wipe out the galaxy. In this you can set up the starjammers and Charles Xavier relationship with Lillandra and Scott's questions about his father (this of course will set up the StarJammers part in the next movie).
Teh Title: X-Men: Armageddon NOW!
The third movie should be an adaptation of
the DARK PHONEIX Saga the classic version. With the Phoneix bird, Jean "eating" suns, and blue ending on the blue side of the moon (no watcher though)
Introduce the Hellfire club with Sebastion Shaw bringing up the idea of actaul building Sentinels to curtail mutant threat after there defeat from the X-Men.
Bring back Beast (but now blue and furry) and angel (who was aonce Hellfire memeber),introduce Kitty and have her fall for Peter, and then do the DarK Phoneix saga properly, losley adapting the story from the comics. Have it end with Jean sacrificing herself with Scott watching. he movie ends at Jean funeral with Scott quiting the group and Storm taking the lead.
the title: X-Men : Rise of Dark Phoneix
The fourth movie (which would be tricky) would be an adaptaion of the classic "Days of Future Past" which would be a great vehicle for the romance between Kitty and Pete. Have Wolverine meet Yurkio and bring up his sumari background as well as his Weapon X past, and even throw in and introduce the Bishop alternative time line in the story with someone trying to kill the proffesor.
This would be cool because the Brotherhood, in full force, would fight the X-men in Washington and Mystique will bring up the questioning of Nightcrawlers family.
the title: X-Men: Children of tommorow or Future Imperfect
The fifth movie should be an adapation of the "Mutant massacre" and intorduce the morlocks, Gambit and Phylocke. But you have the mutants massacred by Sentinels.
The mutants escape and they hold the human resident of Genosha hostage and a return of Magneto on asteriod M with him taking the remaining morlocks to Asterod M with him to join the "brotherhood'.
The X-Men will have the dilema of trying to save the lives of humans and mutants in an all out battle of the Sentinels and Mutants on Genosha.
This Series will end with Magneto and the surviving Mutants on Asteriod M (the public not knowing, thinking they ALL died was killed by Sentinels, but Proff X knowing), the Sentinels project put on hiatus from the bad press the Sentinels got with the Genosha Battle, and the X-men reaffirming there dream of mutant and humans living together to avoid another "holocaust" like genosha.
the Title: X-Men: The Last Stand (pun intended)
Botom line, adapt different classic stories to the big screen the true X-fans know and the public will appreciate and not have the same story line of an impending war between mutants and humans (Okay,we get it from the first movie) and make it more true in look and characters to the comics.
With the FX being as they are today, it's not to out of the realm to adapt mak these movies a littl emore "fantastic" and push the envelope then the ones we have now. We already got a trilogy with "realism" in these movies, go for the cosmic now.
