I went back to playing this game after a long time away because I got the Developers Cut on the PC. This game is amazing, and Starbreeze sounds like a nice bunch of guys.

Incredible graphics, especially for an Xbox game. The gameplay was phenomenal. The level design was surprisingly brilliant, and the acting was so good I couldn't believe Vin Diesel was in this game.

It involved Vin Diesel, it sucks :o

Well first off, Vin Diesel is a bad ass, so what did you expect???? Overall, that was one of the most impressive games i ever played on the Xbox. I loved that game and really wish Vin and the dev's woulda hooked up to make another one. In conclusion, yes The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay is one BAD ASS game!!!!

If this game was BC, I'd buy it in a nanosecond.

Im waiting on the day this game becomes backwards compatible so i can waste another week of my life. Why it wasnt the FIRST BC game is beyond me.

This game just makes me sad that there won't be more movies:(

Are the RIDDICK guys working on THE WHEELMAN?

Did you actually play the game, or are you just being a presumptuous jackbutt?

The Riddick guys are making a game based on The Darkness comic book. It looks awesome. I think Midway is going The Wheelman.

I never played it, becaue I've seen Vin Diesels "work." I know he did a voice in the game, so I refuse to sit through probably around 8 boring hours of his flat, monotonus dialouge in it, just like I refuse to sit through his crappy movies that only 14 year olds like.

THE BEST COMPLIMENT I CAN PAY THIS GAME.....AND 'STARBREEZE'......IS THAT IT MAKES 'F.E.A.R.' LOOK BAD.

BY THAT, I MEAN THAT CONSIDERING THE FAR INFERIOR HARDWARE SPECS OF THE XBOX, COMPARED TO THE "REQUIRED" SPECS OF 'F.E.A.R.' FOR THE PC (AND 360/PS3)......IT'S TRULY AN AMAZING ACCOMPLISHMENT. IF YOU SAW BOTH RUNNING SIDE-BY-SIDE, FOR JUST A FEW SECONDS, YOU'D BE HARD PRESSED TO DISCERN WHICH WAS WHICH.

You are really missing out on one of the best Xbox games ever, guy.
Don't be a hater.

But it's not the polygon count or the detail which F.E.A.R excels in. It's the special effects, which are greater in number and far more amazing than just about all of the action games before it put together. It doesn't look like it in the screenshots, but once you've been through a firefight with five soldiers (arguably the best A.I in a FPS shooter to date) and just watch the whole place being torn apart by gunfine - sparks flying everyone, bullet ricochets, crumbling debris...total chaos. Just wait until you try in on the 360 - you'll never want to touch another action game again.

YOU COMPLETELY MISSED MY POINT. :(

I was extremely skeptical of the Riddick game, because it involved Vin Diesel. The only movies that he has been in that I liked was Saving Private Ryan (which was before I ever heard of Vin Diesel), and The Iron Giant (I didn't know that Vin Diesel did the voice of the Giant until last year).

A month or so ago, I reluctantly picked up the Riddick game along with Fable: The Lost Chapters and NFL 2K5.

The game has proven me wrong. It's damn amazing. However, I still have no interest in watching the Riddick movies because Vin Diesel still sucks

I thought the same thing, and I was wrong.

This game is simply the best Xbox game. It's so good you will beg for more, you will play it again and again, you will want to see everything in every level.

I am not a fan of Vin Diesel, but I have seen plenty of his movies (none in the Riddick series) but his acting in this game is so good, it's barely recognizable as Vin, and it's easily my favorite performance of his, atop even "The Iron Giant".

Vin Diesel did not code this game, he did not design this game. He voice acts the main character in the few lines he has and does a damn fine job of it. You're doing yourself a great disservice by not playing this game, go for it.

FEAR had a lot of scripted AI, like climbing over things and diving through windows, it happened the same way 90% of the time for me.

The best special effects in this game though, are the bullet holes. Holy macarel, they're parralax mapped! I really love them, and wish they had more varieties than "small" and "large", but the effects were great in this game, from the Bullet Trails in slow-mo to the warp effect of the explosions.

Anyways, I can see THWIP*s point, and it's a good one. Starbreeze made a huge technical feat with Riddick that was only matched by a few other Xbox games. I have never liked Monolith's Lithtec Engine, and FEAR is no exception. It's a requirement ****e for no good reason, and it probably always will be.

Its kinda "surreal" looking at these screens. When I first read the Game Informer article on this game I was stunned by the look of the graphics. I thought to myself " Wow! Will games ever look any better than this?" Now, the first thing that comes to mind is " Eh, these screens are basic".

Just a little story.:cwink:

Those graphics actually look quite nice. If this game ever becomes BC, I'll be sure to pick it up.

IT WAS PORTED TO THE PC, LIKE, 2 YEARS AGO.

I thought I didn't, I was merely attempting to justify the crazy system requirements for F.E.A.R and why it doesn't look as good in the screenshots as it should.

Two Words.

The Darkness.

Next smashing hit for starbreeze if lightning strikes twice for them, which is so going to happen.

Ok, but does it play anywhere near as good on the PC as it does on the Xbox?
