The Wolverine Rila Fukushima as Yukio

Yeah. Hopefully we see more of Rila in movies. From the interviews I read she wasn't initially keen on taking up acting, but it turned out really well for her.

I'm sure this is just the beginning of her amazing acting career! :woot:

hehe still funny seeing some people here having crush her, when just a couple of months before the movie came out, the reaction on SHH front page was pretty much; OMG...she's butt ugly!

I like her too...there's just something really attractive about her

Comic book fans ALWAYS jump the gun and prejudge. They usually turn out to be dead wrong (Heath Ledger, Anne Hathaway, Rila, Chris Evans, etc).

I'm not really crushing on her, I just like the fact she kicked butt and is great new addition to the xmen world.

Mariko on the other hand...........:hrt::hrt::hrt:

I was pleasantly surprised by Yukio. I thought I'd hate her, but she was actually really good. I loved the scene where she tried warning Logan about her seeing his death.

Maybe I'm missing something but she was a completely different character than death strike.

Myself and a mate were arguing about this after the film and he was claiming she was meant to become death strike. Where as I was saying she was a totally different character even disregarding hu's portrayal in x2

Yeah there has been several confused people about this but its because of Japanese names that are similar.

Lady Deathstrike is a character called Yuriko Oyama, not Yukio.

You are correct your mate was wrong:woot:

most likeable character in the movie, and a standout for me.

Yeah she really came off as a likable character.

Like at the end of the movie, when she was smiling to Logan and saying that she is Logan's bodyguard, people at the theater were smirking.

The Badassness, the anime style, the sweet/innocent yet dangerous persona as well as the loyalty she shows to Logan all make her a very attractive character. I'm not surprised guys are crushing on her, I remember having a crush on Dania Ramirez as Callisto in X3 and her character wasnt nearly as cool or relevant as Yukio.

She was awesome, hard to believe it was her first role. She balanced having an edge with heart, humour, adventurous spirit and badassery! :D

I hope she appears in the 3rd movie if there is one, I imagine they are planning for that given she left with Logan as opposed to staying with Mariko.

Maybe she meets Storm and "things" start to happen.

She doesn't need to Mohawk, just everything else.

Yes because she could have been a disaster of a character, being angsty and a stereotypical anime girl in a school uniform.

I was so glad the way she turned out was nothing of the sort:up:

She's so great. She must return. And if she does, it would be cool if she had black hair like this

Rila said they liked her red hair at the final audition. They also considered a black-haired Yukio before this.

OK!: What did you think of her red hair? Because in the comic books, Yukio’s hair is black.
RF: I actually had red hair for the final audition, and James (the director) asked me to keep it. I’m like, “Really?” and then he said, “Just in case. I know if you dye your hair to dark you can’t go back to lighter color so just keep it for a couple weeks more and we’ll see what’s going to happen.” They were considering dark, spikey hair as well, but they decided to stick with the red hair I had already.

I loved the red hair. It make her more distinctive and had a nice anime feel to it. This was both main actresses first film role and they were both fantastic. Whoever cast these two is a genius.
