Yeah but we got track and field coming up :db:

Which means we have this guy for the next week:

as well as her:

and her who (to nobody's surprise) advances to the semi-finals tonight, despite her unusual hair color:

They're up to 7 golds now and tied with Japan, but still fewer medals overall than the Japanese.

Nice. Could go up a lot tomorrow with 3 track and field guys defending their London 2012 titles.

It's obvious that Katie Ledecky replaces Michael Phelps as the most dominant athlete in swimming, I wonder who'll replace Usain Bolt?

Let's hope so because a lot of people said Missy Franklin would be Phelps replacement but she hasn't been the same since her back injury.

Even though I am an American, I do hope that Usain Bolt kicks Justin Gatlin's ass on the track.

I remember last Saturday watching cycling and I used to care for the sport, and then we find out that Lance Armstrong is a lying sack of crap.

I wouldn't discount Penny Oleksiak either. She has four medals and just turned 16 last month.

Also, Maya DiRado, the announcers say that this is her first and last Olympics.

I think they mention that she's taking a six figure job after the Olympics.

Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce has had some crazy looks to her hair.

Medal count as of day 7
Total only

1 usa 50
2 China 37
3 Japan 24
4 uk 22
5 russIA 22

Good to see Hope Solo lose. One of the few American athletes I hate.

After a week of Phelps and Ledecky, I'm ready for the Bolt!

I thought it's also because she went to college and hasn't been able to juggle it as well as some others.

I far prefer swimming to track and field. I'll still watch the diving. Also may catch some open water and definitely the synchronized swimming but they're not quite the same as these swim meets.

I think it was really just a race for silver which everyone else thought of as the coveted gold, because the actual gold had long gone by then and there was no chance of it.

Near empty Olympic stadium for the morning session of athletics track and field in Rio. London had a sold out crowds for the same session.

photo finish in the Rowing mens single sculls....

Gold - New Zealand
Silver - Croatia
Bronze - Czech Rep

So it's Murray vs Del Potro in the final of the men's tennis. Hopefully Murray can defend his Olympic title and get another gold for GB.

Third straight Gold medal for the United States in Women's Rowing Eights.

So there's a men's 1500m freestyle final for swimming later tonight. Was there ever a women's event for that? I don't recall seeing that at all.
