Tough to find many. Oliver Hardy died at 65. He lost a lot of weight (150 lbs, apparently!) in his last few years but by then was already a sick man.

I'm honestly surprised he made it this long. People his size just aren't built for the lifestyle of a traveling comedian. It's just like a musician. That's actually a really hard life. It's not nearly as glamorous as people think it is.

Dom Deluise made it to 75 before he died.

True! But as in the case of people who had been obese and then lost some weight and died -- perhaps their weight had weakened their system and made it more likely to fail.

Overweight people that have a cocaine issue have an extra strain put on their hearts from the combo of the uppers and extra work the body has to do because of the extra weight. It causes cardiac arrest. That's what killed them.

Abdullah the Butcher- 76 and still going strong. Although I agree with your assessment that the older a person gets, the more imperative that fitness becomes. I'm happy that John Goodman lost some weight because there was a time that he didn't look healthy.

Just watched Dotrice again last week as the elven king ih HELLBOY II: THE GOLDEN ARMY....and like Silvermoonsaid , he was very good as "Father" in BatB.

I believe it was there that he met George R.R. Martin, which led to him narrating the audio books for A Song of Ice and Fire. It's a shame he won't be able to finish out the series.
