The Toriyama news gutted me last night. This man's influence on shonen manga is still felt to this very day. Among his many works and contributions, whether you like or dislike Dragon Ball, you cannot deny that it's had a long-lasting impact on manga and anime as a whole.

DBZ is cemented as one of the big four in anime. Goku is possibly as popular as Superman and Spider-man. So many classic characters that introduced millions to anime. What a legendary creator.

Saw him in lots of Shows (mostly being himself as a singer) but he did turn in a couple of acting parts of note, THE BLUES BROTHERS and the Rod Serling movie A CAROL FOR ANOTHER CHRISTMAS. RIP Mr. Lawrence.
