Now I'm not really familiar with Liefield, but I gather he's a comic book artist...I think these are some of his works:
Is Captain America's chest... normal?
Cars brought in 62 million. Much less than its predecessors. Ice Age 2 opened to 80 million 2 months back. Pixar needs an editor to start scaling back their bloated movies. Incredibles needed a 10 minute trim, Cars needs like a 20 minute trim. It's like 2 hrs long.
X3 brought in 123 million in 4 days. 201 mill in 17 days. Someone has lost perspective. Superman will not do that number from Friday to Monday. It'll do well but X3 was a freakin' monster.
If you'd like to wager on opening weekends, X3 vs Supes, I'll take all your cash right now, just hand it over.
And 10 days after Superman opens it runs into the juggernaut that I expect to be the biggest movie of the summer, Pirates 2. Warners moved Supes up 2 days in order to create more earning potential for Supes in between Pirates opening. By then X3 will have made 230-40 million bucks. X3 benefits from running from Memorial Day to 4th of July when all movies clean up and add to their totals.

Chris,
I'll take your money too. Superman will not resonate with kids. Marvel will continue to steal this generations young fans. Now before I'm homered, remember, I created the most successful spin-off of Superman. I love and adore the character. The Warner Bros. people dropped the ball on this film. I have no doubt that the film will be excellent as far as 37 year old Rob Liefeld goes. I will love it for everything it is, which from the looks of it is very respectful to the Donner films. I like Brandon Roushe?? I like Spacey, Singer is solid, I just wanted to see a Superman movie that grabbed my sons and all their friends and all young kids around the world by the nuts and made him an unstoppable force in all platforms.
That didn't happen.
They should have made the excellent, excellent J.J. Abrams script. That script is the single best, most amazing Superman story ever written. It would have had you pumped and leaving the theatre walking ten feet tall. It was imaginative and action packed with multiple big budget threats. Watching MI:3, the best of the MI films, I wished J.J. would have been granted his wish to direct Superman.
Instead, Warner Bros. did their typical let's steal from Marvel bit, Singer did X-Men, they made money, so let's get a proven comic book guy stolen from Marvel and he'll restore our franchise. Sorry, I have nev er pined for a " I've never felt comfortable on Earth-I'm lonely- You don't know how hard it is bein' me" Superman flick. It looks like it will be more about Luthor than Supes at this point.
Warner's played the safe hand, judging by the terrible, awful, sub-par for anyone Superman merchandise that has hit the stores, I think the movie will play really soft. I'll love it and continue to get my pals interested
in seeing it, but it went for the single, not the home run.
