Robert Pattinson IS The Batman

Really ? Ben in BvS was huuge.
I don't expect Pattinson to be as big as Ben tbh. At best, Pattinson will be like Bale imo (which is fine).

BB Bale certainly had physicality. Affleck was simply much bigger than Bale, and we often mistake physicality with size. Bale's physique was hidden in that rubber suit.

Yeah, if Pattinson manage to have this body, then i'll be more than happy.

He didn’t look bad. He’s a naturally big guy and his trainer used it to their advantage. I just didn’t think he looked all that impressive, especially next to someone like Cavill. Again, not saying that to undermine him or his trainer, that’s just my opinion.

It's fair.
I remember being very impressed by Ben's body, and thought he really looked like the comics.
And I'm already ready for people to complain about Pattinson's physic since he won't be as big as Ben. I remember people praising Ben, just because he was the 'biggest' Batman we had.

Okay, not to **** on him, but I don’t think his physique was that impressive. Come to think of it, I don’t think any of the Batmen looked super impressive outside of Bale in BB. At least IMO.

Not talking about his physique in specific. but about his physicality, his movements and body expression. Not only his fight coreographies, but some iconic poses. English is not my first language, so I thought that word was valid. Should have explaioned myself a bit more.

Ben was the biggest hands down, more imposing too.

Yeah, I agree, but his Batman was more physical too!

Superficially there were many things about Batfleck that were first’s, so it was a welcome change to have so many parallels to the comics. But JL showed me how unimportant many of those things were, as it wasn’t enough to keep my interest in that iteration any longer. The honeymoon phase effectively ended there.

Even if Pattinson won’t get to the aesthetic levels Batfleck provided, it’s not gonna sweat me as there are far more important components in making a lasting impression.

I don't see the necessity of doing concessions. We easily could have the best of every world.

The rumors were saying that Reeves was looking for a 'slimmer' Batman. So I don't think we'll be seeing something like Batfleck again. And, I remember reading a lot of time that Pattinson hated working out. Now of course we all know he will, but I don't think Batfleck body is the goal.
Plus you have to take on consideration that for some people, gaining muscles is harder than for other people, each person has his own body type.

Eh.

I'll think Pattinson will just get as big as he possibly can in the span of 7 months until he shoots the movie, I don't think they'll intentionally backtrack on doing anything out of fear he gets "too big", I think they'll try to achieve the peak of whatever physicality he can get until the movie shoots.

That peak will likely be Neal Adam's Batman, but I don't think they'll be intentionally looking for it, they'll just end up with it.

I just hope that he'll look mean and menacing enough when he needs to. A lot of things are gonna play into that: the suit (which was Bale's problem imo, he was buff but the suits didn't show it at all), the physique, the body language, and the brutality.

The thing with Batfleck was not only his sheer size. He was scary and imposing, almost bordeline monstrous and inhuman. Batbale and the Batburtons were dudes in latex costumes, slow and with weak movements; as if we could easily beat them, despite their physique.

Batfleck would beat the crap out of anyone.

Pattinson’s smaller stature (compared to Ben) won’t matter if his fighting prowess is indisputably “better”. Batfleck had the best fighting choreography to date, but it can be bested with a Batman who has more finesse and speed.

And please, please, please don’t make it obvious it’s a stuntman. Affleck almost had zero presence in his fight scenes and it took me completely out of the experience. Bale has terrible fights, but I could at least appreciate it was him doing it (and I couldn’t make out when he was swapped).

That was what cool about Tom Holland as Spiderman. You could tell it was him under the mask.

In this month's Total Film, it's 'touched' by the director that's what impressed him so much about Holland, compared with say Maguire & Garland, he got heavily 'in there' with the stunt work as his dance & ballet training had helped with his natural movement for Spider-Man.

You watched a very different movie from me. Coz Batfleck looked fat in a fair bit of the one I saw.

And I saw a lot of stuntmen and body doubles... not actually a great deal of Ben Affleck doing any of that stuff.

And none of his fight scenes were ‘scary’. Violent, yes. Over the top, certainly. Hyper real to the point of absurdity, without a doubt. But I don’t find watching someone do something stupidly impossible like throwing a huge crate over their head to be scary. For a character to be scary, they have do things within the bounds of reality... within the realms of possibility. Otherwise it’s all too fantastical and unreal, which isn’t scary, is t?

The only sequence in any Batman film ever that was shot to be deliberately scary was the docks sequence in Begins.

Big bloke in a muscle suit doing impossible action stuff isn’t scary. Cool, possibly. If that’s what you’re after. But not scary.

I respectfully disagree with everything you just said. Couldn't been farthest from my perception.

This was the most physical Batman, the most imposing, brutal and scariest. The warehouse scene is easily the best fighting scene in all Batman if not all CBM (rivaled only by the highway scene on CA:WS).

That scene was magic, despite the overbrutality.

There's much about Snyder's Batman I'd like to see gone, but there's really nothing to compare the BVS choreography with. Nolan's was ok here and there, but way too choppy. Snyder's was the 1st time they showed Batman as borderline supernatural, and I'd like some of that with Pattinson too. It was OTT for sure (duh, welcome to Batman), but it had lots of gusto and I'd rather it lean that way than have it be pedestrian.
