Pattinson’s greatest asset as an actor for this role is the same as Bale’s: the capacity to effectively and convincingly portray characters that display psychopathic tendencies and are capable of acts of extreme violence. Not to say he ever will... but that air of unhinged danger has to be present in the performance. Batman isn’t scary because he’s bulky, he’s scary because he feels like a man who could snap and become a monster.
