Robert Pattinson IS The Batman

Yup. This has always been a bit of a bummer/bitter sweet thing about the Nolan batmovies. You have an actor known for physically transforming himself in roles and he does just above the minimum imo post BB. You have a director considered and always hailed as some ''genius'', but he doesn't really embrace the detective side of Batman. One would assume that would've been Nolan's bread and butter, but nope.

What? lol

The last film he'd acted in before playing Batman was The Machinist, he weighed 110 pounds when he filmed it.

Then he was chubby for some other reason but I remember early interviews with Bale in where he said people doubted him getting the part because he was big and he lost like 60lbs during pre-production before filming. Pretty sure I've seen a pic of him during that time too

That's already been answered by several people. Bale overcompensated after The Machinist and gained too much weight for Begins and had to scale it back a notch.

::takes cursory look at the last couple of pages::

Okay. If this is more or less what Pats' Bruce will look like, I can't really complain. The hair could've been a shade darker than the regular/medium brown color he's sporting now, but it works. I see that some of you have physique concerns. That's fair; however, it's worth noting that Pats is not only wide framed but also fairly tall. He seems to be the type of actor who looks taller than he actually he is. (Anyone else getting that from him?) Now, we're still in the early stages of the film's production, but looking at some if not all of the recent castings, it's clear that Reeves isn't the purist type (C. Farrell and J. Turturro, for instance, look little like their respective comic book counterparts; Selina and Gordon are being portrayed by non-white actors). Point being, as he's already taken some liberties with traditional aspects of the comics--like character design and such--so too might he be less concerned with Bats having the typical "superhero" physique; and I'm fine with that so long as Pats looks sufficiently capable. Mind you, if there wasn't a precedent for that kind of flexibility in the film's approach to these characters, I'd feel a little differently, but alas there is.

Are we sure this is more recent? Pattison's hair looks lighter here than either in the recent set photos or at the Dior event. I think it might be old, but it could be a trick of the lighting...

Not sure about that one but this one is allegedly recent.

I don’t really care too much about how an actor looks off set during production. It’s about how they’re lit etc. The hair could look darker in the film and still photos, for instance. Same idea with his physique.

Hrmm, both fan selfies look like they are from the same event. In these new ones, the colour looks more like on set and at the Dior event. The wonders of lighting it seems!

However, with the messy hair, he is really channeling Neal Adams' Bruce to me;

Let’s also take into consideration that his current hair colour isn’t the final product. Maybe he’s not filming as Bruce for a little while longer. Either way it looks good.

Found the source.

Both images are from what appears to be journalists, so it's probably interviews they conducted at a hotel before the event.

His haircut is interesting, it's not short or too long but they seem to have made choices to accomodate a very specific look, just look at his part. I don't think it's gonna be stylized the same way in the movie, because that way that part looks like a receding hairline lol.

I don't really think they're going for something Neal-Adams esque tho I may be wrong.

We already saw them filming a scene with Bruce Wayne in public, and he dyed it (he had it blonde as of last month) so this is the color for Bruce it seems.

We have already seen Battinson on set in a Matches Malone-esque incognito scene:

Alright well still a transformation for begins either way though

What? lol

What about that quote confuses you? It’s my exact complaint as well. The detective work aspect was majorly played down, the combat was garbage and Bale himself is on record as saying he under performed. Nolan made memento and insomnia... Begins had a very interesting structure and all sorts of weirdness. I always expected more of the intellectual/disorienting stuff. TDK is great for what it is, but I was really hoping for a third movie that Nolan would tap into the more mind-bending stuff for the third.

I definitely agree as well and that guy made a pretty clear post
