Robert Pattinson IS The Batman

I've always pictured early days-Bruce being more lean. Even when I thought of young Batfleck, I pictured Affleck as he actually would've looked back then. Which is about the same size as Pattinson here.

Not my fault i have more muscles and can fight more than robert "weakling" patterson

Cant tell if you’re trolling or not but I’ll respond as though you’re being sincere. Not my fault i have more muscles and can fight more than robert "weakling" patterson
Can’t tell if you’re trolling or not but I’ll respond as though you’re sincere. Not to defend the Pattinson casting cause I’m still not the BIGGEST fan of it myself, but (Speaking as a martial arts instructor in multiple systems) you do realize that “Muscles” play a smaller role in hand to hand combat than many are lead to believe? Furthermore... the best part is.... it’s Hollywood so there’s the whole “acting” element behind it..? Who knew?

Pattinson is an amazing actor and has a great look for Bruce. Why is there still hesitation about his casting? Yeah he doesn't have a physique for Batman like Ben Affleck but he's fine enough and not that weak looking. Batman isn't always buff dude.

His batman from the latest pics is very Telltale's Batman and that's not a bad thing at all

His height, acting skills, ability to change his voice, his hair, his eyes, his jaw, his research into the character...all of that more than makes up for whatever weight he might be during shooting. And I guarantee he won’t look skinnier than Bale in The Dark Knight. I’d bet a lot of money that he looks better than that.

But sure, get all hung up on things that don’t really matter as much. Gah-head.

I'm fine with what he has right now but I still hope he bulks up in the sequels.

That's fair enough and maybe he will if given extra time to train. Batman should anyway over time knowing villains are becoming bigger threats.

This film has physiological villains and so maybe the sequels will have bigger physical threats like Bane

Another great picture.

Honestly, if he looks like that as Bruce, I'd be more than satisfied. I think as actual physical fitness changes the way a person moves and brings a physicality to the performance that cannot be faked. Take Christopher Reeve for example. Size wise, other than maybe Superman 3, he doesn't really compare to modern superhero actors. Expectations, training, and nutrition were different then. However, he did train very hard and was in great shape, which probably really helped him with Superman's confident physicality.

I also like the idea of Bruce getting bigger with time a bit as he grows into the role. It is kinda like prize fighters in the old days. Muhammad Ali got bigger and heavier as he went on. He was a lot smaller when he first one the title from Liston in 1964 than he was at his peak as an experienced reigning champ in 1967.

Who do people always say this about Affleck? His physique was ridiculously and obviously CGI enhanced. On top of that, his natural frame was not even that great for Batman. He was too tall and blocky, which is the Batsuit looked fat and bloated on him and somehow looked better on his stunt double. Bale, in Begins (especially) and The Dark Knight, is the gold standard for Batman. At 6 foot, and a jacked 180-190lbs, he was pretty damn close to the comics' putative 6'2", 210 lbs.

Exactly! Most people don’t seem to realize that Affleck never got toned for his films, he was bulky and chubby. CGI was what gave him his definition and it didn’t look realistic in the least. I think Affleck’s physique in The Town would have been a much better look. I get that Snyder was going for the hulking TDKReturns Batman, but in execution he just looked puffy, especially with added padding in the suit. However the suit when taken on tours for display, looked very slim and honestly PERFECT! Also agreed on Bale, in Begins he was the best a Bruce Wayne/Batman has looked, live action (though some shots of him in the cowl looked a little silly(I’ll blame lighting and angles on that though). TDK and TDKR however, he looked quite small.

TDKR, yes, he looked small, but it kinda made sense for a retired Bruce. But in TDK, he was in great shape:

The TDKR suit just wasn't particularly flattering. Honestly, I would be over the moon if Pattinson was the same size as Bale in TDK. I honestly think it would be a perfect size for this younger, detective Batman.

Some more pics show that Affleck was in good enough shape for the role, it's suit was heavily padded though, which made him look bulky and blocky, but he was not chubby or fat.

If anyone thinks this is too big (I would argue that it's perfect shape for Batman in his mid 40's), then they have different expectations.. of a lean and thin Batman, which is OK for Batman in Year One or Year two.

pattinson is gonna be fine as batman, physique wise.
he's already taller than bale.

the 1939 and 1970s batman had a lean musculature anyway.
that's the look they are probably going for.
more bruce lee than burly.

He was the same size in TDKR. Exactly.

Begins he got huge for the training and shirtless scenes. And looked puffy in the early scenes in the cowl but started slim down in the Chicago summer heat and looked perfect by the end. Particularly the final scene with Gordon.

Bale looks more menacing when his face is thinned out and allowed to be angular. So how he looked in the final scenes of Begins and all of TDK / TDKR

Exactly.

Ben Affleck wasn’t in good shape for BvS :funny:

They literally crudely and comically CGIed his musculature in 300 esque fashion for his shirtless scenes.

The dude posting pictures above of Affleck like he is cut up and in good shape is hilarious. He’s like skinny fat. Pudgy even. Man boobs 24/7 on Affleck.

In Justice League was even worse.

Just cause he walks comically like he has huge muscles with his arms projected out more doesn’t mean he has actual big arms and muscles.

He visibly looks flabby in all those pictures just restrained by shirts that are way too tight / small.

If he was in shape like Bale, Evans, Hemsworth, Jackman, Cavill they wouldn’t need to CGI his body to look in shape.

:pal:

Also you’re right the suit looked great on a toned athletic physique on the stuntman in BvS and SS. And definitely on tour on a mannequin. On Affleck it looked like the Bat-Staypuft Man
