You know what I think would be awesome?
A Batman who sometimes smile and still look cool.
I think the only actor who pulled it off was Keaton, even in that suit, it looked sadistic, menacing and badass :

If you look at other actors, it didn't go well :

Kilmer looked like a turtle

Clooney looked like clooney.

Affleck's smile was... I don't know what it was.
I think with Pattinson in charge, we may very well see the return of a badass smiling Batman.
Would you guys like it to see him smile at some point? Maybe while scaring someone or just before doing a tricks with his gadget?
Pattinson's smile is very very unique, I think I'd prefer if he limited himself to just a smirk or something. You know what I think would be awesome?

And I disagree on your assesment of Keaton, I think he was one that looked the most goofyBut agree to disagree.
Lol hey a Bat-smile would be cool if done right. As long if they don't have him looking like he is doing a toothpaste ad lol
It's cool. Invader Joker's only one of about two or three guys who doesn't think Keaton's Batman looks sadistic and intimidating af when he smiles. No worries, but I really think his smile is nuanced and speak for itself, plus Keaton's eyes, those eyes! Maybe his suit plays on your way of seeing it. The other ones only smile in awkward situations.
And I was born with Burton's Batman, so nostalgia must have an effect on me.
I don't know, Keaton's the only who when he smiles seems confident in a ways I've rarely seen.
Love this post and totally right about Keaton. He was such an incredible Batman and that sadistic smile was really the only time Batman smiling in live action worked! Ben Affleck as good as he was in BvS was like a sesame street character in JL

I'd kinda like to see Robert in a scene like this.
A scene where Batman not only grabs a thug and interrogates him, but literally ties him up and starts torturing him very methodically. And maybe as the interrogation goes on, we see that he's enjoying the process a bit too much.
It'd be a very interesting way of showing Batman's sadistic side without making him a murderer and losing his no kill rule. And Rob would kill it in a scene like that, especially with his view of the character.
I think it'd be more like... he enjoys it in the moment and is letting it show, but then afterwards he kinda regrets it a bit. Would depend on the context and how Pattinson decides to play him.He may have a scene where he enjoy beating a thug, but I think he'll still be conflicted about that aspect of him, the fact that he sometimes like it.
He's still no Punisher, and the guy who took the choice in this Telltale didn't seems to know Batman very well!
Keaton is the most intimidating Batman period. And even implying of those pictures that Keaton had the goofiest smirk or smile in those pics compares to the other goof balls is quite odd. He clearly looks the most intimidating or creepy out of all of them. Kilmer and Affleck look incredibly goofy or creepy but for different reasons. It's cool. He was joking about the DaFoe voice. He always screws around in interviews. What is crazy with Keaton is how even if he's the only one who didn't look anything like your typical Bruce/Batman looks like, his jaw and eyes make it works in a complete different and unique way, it was really a bold move and it paid off.
Now Pattinson may not physically be your view of Batman but he may delivered the best performance of this character on live action, the more nuanced one, more deep ala Phoenix.
Hell, he mentioned Willem Dafoe and a pirate type of voice for Batman. I like when a performance get you out of your comfort zone, except for Bale's voice, as much as I love this trilogy and bale as an actor, it really was a weak point.
I still can't believe they went with it, I guess they just couldn't change it since it would have seems weird in terms of continuation?
I liked Keaton’s smirk in 89’. But I thought his Returns smile was nothing more than a funny bit. I don’t need to see that again.

I just can’t see him going deep and animalistic after Bale.
To be clear, I never hated Bale’s voice. But we need something different.I get that, I hate that voice too, I was thinking more in the line of his “why d’ya spill your beans” voice in lighthouse. It’s a whisper but a deep and clear one.
Maybe not at all time but when he wants to scare some thugs.
A normal voice could do it as well, as long as it doesn’t sound like Bruce Wayne at all time.
To be clear, I never hated Bale’s voice. But we need something different.
If Rob wasn’t trolling, then he’s most likely talking about the deep whisper like you said. Not the accent of course. I just want subtlety this time around. A Batman who is quiet.
