Robert Pattinson IS The Batman

Exactly. Honestly, his involvement in the movie was the reason I first even got excited. He doesn't take roles these days that aren't interesting on some level (I'd say Neil in Tenet is the only "generic" one but he crushed it and I'm guessing it was more so to work with Nolan because he makes unique films in general). To attract people like Pattinson and Dano the script has to be genuinely interesting and weird, so bring it on.

I love Batman so much but if it didn't have these people attached, it would be massively less interesting imo. As a movie itself its exciting, even without the Batman brand. I legit don't think I've ever gotten this excited for a big studio movie ever

completely agree with everything you said, at first with Matt Reeves I was a bit sceptic, but his passion for the project; his influence and his casting choice make it seems like it’s going to be a good film point, not just a great comic book movies.

As long as the team puts heart on it we have a chance to see something unique.

I went to see Joker at TIFF and paid 350$ for the ticket Plus an 8hours long ride just because I knew I would experiment something different and unique, even if it meant getting out of my comfort zone.

And also see Joaquin and Todd on a stage speaking about their film! (I swear I’m not bragging!)

And oh boy did I was right on that one and hope to be with this one too.

That's really cool, sounds like a great experience! I really liked Joker, the music was especially incredible in theaters.

The thing with Reeves that's super exciting to me isn't just his passion for it (that's certainly part of it though), but the context for the movie. It just feels like a repeat of the development of Batman Begins. Brand is damaged among GA by something (B&R, BvS, JL, etc.) so the studio has no choice but to just let a guy make a movie with less interference than there would be otherwise. It's also why Joker was refreshing in the grand scheme of things - and it was only possible after the Joker brand was damaged after Suicide Squad (Todd Phillips is just allowed to make a movie on his own terms). Zack Snyder being controversial is the reason this movie is going to be amazing imo lol

I hope Reeves & Pattinson stay on for as long as possible. Imagine a saga of this quality with little studio interference exploring the entire Batman mythos ?? legit the dream

I love the hair. Immediately makes him distinct from prior versions of Bruce Wayne and giving him serious emo vibes is incredibly in character. Batman is and always has been emo as ****.

That's the thing, though, I don't think his hair looks particularly "emo". It's not especially edgy, or brooding, it's just kind of boyish. It actually reminds me of the type of haircut Peter Parker would have before he became Spider-Man. It makes me think this Bruce is going to be a bit of a geek.

totally agree, we exactly think alike, let those artist do whatever they want, its just better for everyone!

I get that it's different, but it's just not 'Bruce Wayne.' It could be a different character, but not Bruce Wayne.

It kinda reminds me of Daniel Craig's hair in the poker scenes of Casino Royale. I get they were trying to make him edgy and rough by giving the spiky hair. But it just looked 'wrong' when he's in the Bond tux.

Plus, it's dated that film and makes it very 2006. They have course-corrected and Craig's more recent films have gone for a more traditional Bond style. So I guess by that logic Pattinson's hair will be perfect by the third film...

Craig’s hair in Casino is perfect for Bond’s characterization and looks awesome on him.

Bruce’s hair makes it look like he doesn’t particularly care about appearances. It funnily enough accomplishes the same goal that Capullo’s Zero Year buzz cut design does. It gives him a messy, rough, Byronic vibe. I look at him and immediately see a troubled, obsessive person.

Second this. I get the feeling this Bruce Wayne is obsessed with being Batman, or is still kind of grappling with how to balance his "double life." I expect his look and Bruce Wayne persona will evolve throughout by the end of the film and maybe more likely in subsequent movies.

I don't mind Bruce seeming a bit unhinged/more reclusive in his early days, it perfectly fits with this stage of acting out "vengeance" on the Gotham underworld.

I think it's because we associate the more "Byronic" aspects of the character with Batman and private Bruce exclusively that some are having a hard time reconciling Pattinson's appearance there; it feels incongruous with the starkly contrasting playboy persona. That said, even if you were to remove those dark and mysterious qualities from the equation, his hair is still appropriate for an effete aristocrat type depending on how it's styled, parted, etc. Also, the "messier" look in the teaser is likely attributed to the tumultuous turn of events at the mayor's funeral. Like everyone else, the dude's been running around! lol He's noticeably more presentable in the set pics, however, as they're meant to reflect things ahead of the calamity. Makes perfect sense when you think about it.

I also wouldn't want him as Bond. He's already got a lock on one iconic movie character, so give someone else a chance at Bond. And in any event, there are other actors who are more suited to the part imo.

I don’t see Pattinson as Bond.
Rob probably looks more like Fleming's Bond than anyone who has actually played him. It's that jaw and cheek bones! The heavy eyebrows, the long pointed nose.

He could totally be a great grandson of Hoagy Carmichael, the man Fleming based the looks of Bond on.
