Robin Hood

hrm...not too fond of the look. He looks WAY too clean shaven for a guy living out in the woods.

:hehe::hehe::hehe: that shouldn't count.

The inclusion of Disney's RH made me smile. :yay:

And I like Crowe's picture. He looks gritty, just as I would expect a medieval outlaw living in the forest would be.

Looks alright so far- the costume is perfectly authentic for the 12th-13th centuries, which is good. The bow seems more like it belongs on the fields of Crecy or Poitiers, though.

I'm a little confused as I haven't been following this project closely.

After how this project started out, to all the changes that have eventually been made due to Scott and Crowe's dissatisfaction with the original script, is there going to be a Sheriff of Nottingham now?

Or are they still going with the Crowe as both characters angle?

I thought the bow looked a little long too, but I suppose they're going for dramatic effect.

i'm not seeing how Crowe's costume is lame. It's simple and it's pretty much Robin Hood. I wish Crowe had a different haircut however, but it works.

I saw him on Jay Leno promoting Body of Lies afer he finished filming State of Play and his hair was longer, he looked like a penguin when it was untied. Trust me, the Gladiator cut is better.

I don't have a problem at all with his 'Robin Hood' look. I actually quite dig it.

His Gladiator days are over. He's never gonna re-capture that magic again. He is nowhere NEAR in the same shape as he was ten years ago... and it's not like he's fifty or anything. This just spells another rehash of a popular mythos to me and I don't think the big names will make it that much better.

It is possible to get back in the same shape you know. It was just a shorter period I suspect.

He wasn't amazingly toned in Gladiator, either. He is a fairly stocky bloke, and he needs to suck it in. For all that, I am reasonably happy to see a Robin of Locksley who is a little older and more rugged than Errol Flynn or (groan) Kevin Costner. There is no indication in any medieval ballad that Robin was a lean or chiseled young man.

Yeah, I want to see a tough as nails Robin Hood. Not a girly faced one! Or worse Kevin Costner.

It's funny that James Cagney was actually the original choice for Robin Hood until Errol Flynn took over and cemented his look as the definitive Robin Hood in the public consciousness (not unlike Basil Rathbone and Sherlock Holmes).

I like the new haircut on Crowe. The long, flowing hair would've brought back bad memories of the Costner movie but I think it would've looked a bit better if it was just a bit longer.

I hope we get a pic of Blanchett as Maid Marian soon, as well as the supporting character. I keep thinking that she'll look like Galadriel from LOTR with red or brown hair...

Every remark I have read about Crowe's haircut in this flick makes me a bit dumber, as in losing whole IQ points at once.....

I know, people are complaining about his haircut? His hair?!

Yeah. If you want to talk about bad hair, check out Tom Hanks in Angels & Demons. Now THAT is an awful hairstyle.

No, no, Hank's hair looked awful in TDVC -- I mean, what were they thinking giving Hanks a mullet? At least Hanks and the producers had the sense to chop it off for the sequel.

It looks fine. Have you see him in DVC? Now that's BAD.
