The Dark Knight Rises Robin

Should Robin be in any new Batman films?

  • Of course! Just give him some pants...

  • No. Just no

  • Maybe, just dont make him a 27 year old bum that gets ADOPTED BY BATMAN

This is who I think would make a good Robin/Dick Grayson.

Not a fan of the mask. It's one problem pretty much every Robin costume has had, IMO. The mask just never covers up enough of his face to be a convincing disguise. And it doen'st need to be in some lame flashy design. I'm sure they could design something though that covers up his face, yet still remains a domino mask (as opposed to a full on cowl)

I always think there's a certain...futility in trying to cast Robin as by the time he's in any movie whoever we've "cast" will be 5, 10 years too old for the role.

When I say no robin I have a ton of other reasons as well. He is the campiest persona in the comics right now. every version of that suit is horrible and does not fit with Batman but some how it gets used no matter how campy it looks. The name Robin is perhaps one of the capiest parts of the comics. Also I enjoy batman better when he works alone

Truth? I actually agree with everything you said there. My only concern as a fan is that if The Powers That Be do decide to make future Bat-films with Robin as a character, I hope they come up with plausible scenarios. Which was why I tried to think of some respectable ways it could be done.

Maybe Nightwing, but I've never seen the guy act. I say Hunter Gomez or the kid in Batman Begins.

I do believe we won't see Robin in any of these movies, but I think Richard Grayson should be there. I think Dick has always served to be a mirror for Batman. He sees this child lose his parents as he did, and it touches him deeply. The relationship between Dick and Bruce has always been interesting and could be played very well in the movies. It we be cool if the did it like TAS handled Robin's origin. It was very dark and mature as we saw Dick trying to get vengance for his parents murder. My favorite scene from that show was when Dick was alone in a big empty room in Wayne Manor, holding a photo of his parents and crying. Bruce walks in to console him. Dick asks "Does the pain ever go away?", and Bruce says "No, but it becomes less with time." I tell you, if that made it's way into the theatre, there wouldn't be a dry eye to be found.

that's funny hunter was always someone I thought of for the role (of young Dick Grayson) too

though, they probably could work the kid from the first one in to the story line pretty easily

Even though I do not want to see Robin at all

I think it would be better if they went more along the lines of Dark Victory
