RoboCop Returns?

Bale has in 2011 the terminator sequel and in 2012 the third batman movie.

he will 100% not be in this movie.

Someone over at imdb suggested Cillian Murphy which I dont think is a bad suggestion.

He would be great, even has the characters name, and a passing resemblance to Weller.

One thing I liked about Weller was that he sounded like a robot even before he even came Robocop.

Robocop has a pretty Iconic look. You can tweak him only so far, IMO, before he looks too much like The I-Mac Robots from I Robot, or Iron Man.

Just bring back Phil Tippit and Rob Bottin to update the look of the character.

Whoever plays Alex Murphy is more or less irrelvevant if this is a sequel. If it was a remake, and there was 30 minutes of Pre-Robocop Murphy, then yeah it matters but why get a huge name like Christian Bale when we are probably only going to see his face in about 10 minutes worth of flashbacks, and the role of Robocop does NOT require an incredible bit of acting chops.


And if Bale plays Robocop it severley mucks up my chances of ever seeing The Robocop Vs Terminator movie I have been dreaming of since 1992..

Who says Alex Murphy is going to be Robocop in this movie. From the early synopsis we got a while back, Robocop could very well be a completely new character altogether.


BTW, as someone mentioned in the Terminator thread, Guy Pierce would be an interesting choice for Robo. Don't think he would be interested, but anyways.....

I hope Aronofsky get's in touch with his inner Paul Verhooven (sp?) making this. Where it's now probably my favorite movie, it could be very easy to F up if they make it too A.I. and not enough The Vindicator.

after now getting a good idea of darrens style i am very excited to see what he does with robocop

i watched it for the first time in a long time and it was a cool movie but it wasnt what i was expecting

i think thats mostly due to the fact that the robocop character is bigger than the movie it self

I honestly don't know/care what it is, whether it be a sequel or a reboot, I'm just hoping for a great movie. And I think we're going to get one.

Yeah I heard Murphy's name being thrown around...perhaps it could work.

Whomever lands the job I think the actor chosen, like Peter Weller, needs to have a strong face with well defined cheek bones and distinguished features.
