I certainly hope this news is true because it will be easier for me to ignore a faux sequel than a remake.

BTW: I hated The Fountian, I had to hold back giggles and the urge to leave when I was in the theater.

I was half asleep and misread the news bout Darren Aronofsky being in final talks for Robocop; I read it as Darren Aronofsky being the new Robocop. Yeah I was tired.

wow cool news that the film might not possibly be a remake like thought but a sequel set many years later. If that is true that pretty cool. As for aronofsky it will be sweet if he is officially signed for the film. Cant wait to hear more news on the film get final confirmation on sequel or remake, and then casting.

Hm... there are two possibilities: one, Murphy is long gone, and they build a new Robocop. This is a worrying possibility. Two, Murphy has been "decommissioned," put on ice, and stuffed in a warehouse somewhere. Certainly would be true to OCP: decommissioning a (marginally) human "product" and leaving him in a warehouse to be forgotten. This second scenario has tremendous potential for greatness.
