I too would prefer a sequel, but what I really want is...

no thanks. name one vs. movie that wasn't cheesy. and vs movies effectively kill both franchises at the same time. i think they should be separate universes.

so is there any links to the article saying the film is going to be a sequel and not a remake?

The AvP movies were cheesey, but Freddy Vs Jason was praised by the horror scene, and who didn't love all the old universal monster movie crossovers?

the only problem would be the climax... just on principal, you can't have Robocop destroying skynet in the future. But it would be interesting to see the link between the two... like how the endoskeleton came from robos design... and that he could rebuild himself in the future with terminator parts:

But this is not really material for a movie, but could actually jive well on that meh Terminator TV show.

Spider-Vader had a good idea

"It should be in Robcop's time & the Terminator wants to kills him because OCP & RC are a major threat in the future. "

I prefer the comic book myself, which makes far more sense than what you just outlined:

where humans travel back to kill Robocop, because he is the initial terminator design (making OCP a Skynet allie, OCP is afterall the villain of the robocop property... it shouldn't be twisted into a good guy vs. Skynet, OCP should build skynet, or a part of it atleast). Terminators therefore go back to protect Robocop, as he is their ancestor. Crap hits the fan, Robocop learns the truth about what is going on. Robocop turns on the terminators.

but again, that being said, this isn't really good material for a movie... unless it was a sequel in a reinvigorated franchise/ or a new franchise. Also depends on who owns what property, at what time.

I want the theme back! Great theme. One of the few non John Williams I like. (Some others being Terminator & Elfman Batman)

[SIZE=-1]Basil Poledouris rocks, his Cherry 2000 track is also cool.

In all honesty though, it's seems kinda pointless to remake something similar, a completely different take would maybe be ok. There is nothing wrong with the movie though, time has barely touched it.

I like the idea of being a sequal and 20 years later, I hope it works out for the best to make a solid film close to the original.

With the director thats attached, this may even be better than the original

For the record I wrote that I hated the Fountain. I wasn't pretending to speak for anyone else.

I could go for that...of course Robocop would get some sweet upgrades during that time.

maybe by the horro scene, but cheesy for the rest of us. i didn't mind AvP but it's still cheesy. and i think F v J worked is because they set that up 10 years ago.

Robocop would die in no less than 3 seconds:whatever:

In the book
he gets shunted onto the Web and later hacks into a Terminator factory to build himself a new body using the same frame as the T-800/T-101/whatever.

that would be freakishly awesome as a movie.
