Rock Band 3 confirmed for holidays

After devoting last year's installment of the Rock Band franchise entirely to The Beatles, Harmonix and MTV Games are getting back to their roots. The pair announced via Facebook Tuesday that Rock Band 3 is set for release this holiday season. Electronic Arts will once again be handling distribution duties.

The Facebook status update promises that Rock Band 3 "will innovate and revolutionize the music genre once again," but provides no other details. Platforms, new features, song lists, and other details will be revealed at a later date.

Wonder how RB3 will "innovate and revolutionize" the genre, but I'll be interested to find out more.

SCHWEET..

I've spent so much money on DL songs... :(

Between RB2 and Beatles:RB, I'm good for awhile.

They need to let us add our own tracks. I wont pick it up if they dont.

What do you mean? Make custom tracks? Because you can do that in Guitar Hero.

Yea say if i want to add a song that isnt in the game or part of DLC, id like to be able to import that song into the game.

You do know that's never going to happen due to licensing issues, right?

Added to that, if they had that option, there'd be no purpose in making another game in the genre. Ever. It doesn't make sense from a business standpoint.

We need a Rock Band - AFRO EDITION...with more funky and jazzy old-school beats.

Revolutionize the genre? That can only mean one thing: We're finally getting a Keytar peripheral!

I want a Weird Al track pack with an accordion peripheral.

Then RB2 will be the last RB i purchase. No need to keep buying new titles when there really isnt any worth while additions other than tracks.

I just want to be able to transfer my tracks from RB2 to RB3, and the rest is just gravy.

Not a bad playlist, most of them is the artists I listen to. Still, I'm in no hurry to get this game since they're already tons of games I'm going to get in this autumn/holiday.

An alright setlist, some pretty good songs, alot of not so good songs. Guitar Hero's setlist is better but the whole idea of the pro mode and the dlc is what will sell Rock Band 3

I think Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock's set list is better, too.
