Rocky 6

Umm, I'm sure it runs much more deeper than a video game. And also in Rocky 5 he took a ****load of punches from Tommy Gunn. Did that kill him?

I guess you weren't paying attention to the movies, the script reviews, or the teaser at all. Damn ADD generation.

All I've seen about this movie is the trailer, in the trailer there's a TV report that a video game simulation pitting Rocky (in his prime) against the current champion in the Rocky universe. This gets Rocky thinking maybe he can come back, the plot shown in the trailer revolves around Rocky making a comeback after seeing this report, which harkens back to him being the underdog again like in the first, third and fourth movies. Guess I should be reading the script reviews, not relying on a trailer to advertise the movie for me.

Personally, I feel about Rocky 6 the same way I feel about an upcoming Indy 4; namely, a comeback vehicle for an aging actor whose best days are behind him. I mean, Stallone is already 60, and he's playing Rocky again? He hasn't had a hit in years, so he is digging up his old franchise which should be kept in the Hollywood museum, not back at the multiplex. I know that the trailer got people curious about it, but I'm just not that excited about seeing a 60-year-old Rocky back at his 6th installment.

I guess they need the extra cash, social security just doesn't cover it anymore :D Btw, how old was George Foreman when he returned to boxing?

Wait, Let me get this straight.

You think the plot is ridiculous because it centers around a T.V. report about the results of a video game that brings Rocky out of retirement, but you're a fan of Rocky 4 who's plot centers about a T.V. report where the Russian amateur champs wants to fight Balboa in an exhibition, that brings Apollo out of retirement. When Apolla gets killed in the ring, Rocky dumps the belt so he can fight the Russian.

Also on top of that, Rocky's training consists of toughing Rocky up so he could take a beat from the Russian.

This is just Rocky IV all over again instead this time its Adrian who is dead instead of Apollo. And guess who is training Rocky? Yep Duke who trained him in IV.

So what are you bit**** about? This should be right up your alley with you in the front row!

Rocky 4's plot is revenge and the cold war. Apollo gets killed in the ring, so Rocky wants to avenge his friend by defeating the Russian. The background is USA vs. Russia. Rocky's training in the fourth movie isn't training him to take a beating, there's no talk in Rocky 4 about whether he'll be fast enough in the ring, whether the calcium deposits in his hands will allow him to throw effective punches (both of which are shown in the trailer). Does the new champ kill Adrian is that why Rocky stepping back in the ring? To avenge Adrian's death? Also it was more Rocky training himself in 4 than Duke and he was still relatively young then, Stallone almost a senior citizen now. I'm just basing all this off the trailer, but it looks stupid. However, Rocky 4 was kinda stupid too, but fun to watch, in fact I like it more as a cold war spoof/go America movie than a boxing movie. Each Rocky sequel was a little worse than the one before it, which doesn't bode well for this new one.

Mid-40's, he's 56-57 now and his comeback was around 10 years ago, maybe more.

Cold War!? Man Rocky IV more probly one of the best boxing movies I've seen. The Music and training was inspiring I loved the music alot.

All of the movies since RII you have to have a since "suspension of disbelief" but they are enjoyable if taken from that context.

Rocky coming out of retirement as a senior citizen is not only plausable but the story is actually inspired by George Foreman. As for far as calcium deposits and the sorts, its only logical that the story addresses Rocky's (and Stallone's) advanced age (just like Clint Eastwood did in his last cowboy movie Unforgiven). This makes the movie more realistic and plausable. It really seems that Stallone is trying to bring this series full circle by presenting the same theme as the original Rocky.

That is not to say it will be as good because the formula has been overdone but for fans of the series this will be a great way to say goodbye to a American cultural icon by ending it in a more satisfying way than Rocky V.

Listen to the music, it's all rah-rah America. America fighter trains in the wilderness against the elements, Russian fighters trains with state of the art equipment and is injected with steroids. Also the boxing in the movie, all Rocky movies, is horrible and completely unrealistic they never block the punches, these characters should've died along time ago. Doesn't stop my enjoyment of the movies, but they boxing scenes are ridiculous.

Try getting the script pages posted on Stallone's Sly magazine and read some of the script reviews. The story is a bit deeper than you think. His around 50-55 on the script. The age and brain damage issues are addressed on the story. I don't want to spoil it.

Holy crap another rocky movie is coming out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111

Weyeed! Good to see you. Have you been away or just lurking around?

Aliens abducted me, but I ate them. they were delicious.

no, i was busy and i guess forgot about this place. But i came back once the black spidey suit was revealed. I'm planning to jump ship again, not due to rampant intolerance of differing views that i've witnessed ha ha never, no... just to go, I don't know... do something else. Get an education or something.

I'll be back to battle my enemy C.Lee and finally defeat him once and for all some day. Then i will finally have achieved my dream of becoming a Mod here... yes... it can't happen any other way. i have to find some way of outwiting Lee... oh well.

I've rambled on enough. Yeah so I was away and then came back and i'm going away again. yep. Maybe right now.

SHANE! COME BACK!!!

We want you, Shane. Mother wants you. I know she does!

Been on vacation for the last week, I'm finally back.

As far as people having a problem with the video simulation, they do it all the time with different sports currently, so it's a realistic take. Also, here are some new pics:

I like Nolan's out of leftfield choices - Murphy and Oldman worked in the first film so I have no reason to doubt Nolan now.

What did you think of SR?
