Rocky 6

It will be placed near the bottom of the steps. Not at the top of the steps  :down :down

Really? Must have missed that part. It's still cool none the less. It's better than it being in an almost unfindable part of the Spectrum. You actually have to look for it.

Absolutely. Better there than in a storage.

Yeah, it's still cool the statue will be out.

Whoa April bummer.

Im in UK so the date will prob be a week or two after US,
hopefully not too far after tho.

Just read at coming soon that Rocky Balboa is now beling released in February
http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=16424

It has already announced a "Pink Panther" sequel and the next 007 pic "Bond 22," due out in November 2008. "Rocky Balboa" unspools in February.

Do we know if this is correct or is it still coming out in December?

Official Rocky Balboa blog site still says December 22nd.........

Well... I hope it's not feb...that's usually the dumping month the studios use for bad movies.....

The official poster also has the December date so I'm sticking to it. I think they're confused because originally it was slated for February (which is still the date where it will open in most countries worldwide).
But it would be a real mistake to open it in February next to Ghost Rider etc...

Official poster? Where's that?

Yep. That's the official teaser poster.

I hope the February date is a typo.

This is "a" official movie poster. I don't know if there'll be more.

Personally, I wish we got something new. It looks too similar to the original Rocky poster.

I loved the trailer for this, so I decided to rent the earlier Rocky films and watch 'em all before it hits! I'm currently through IV and just rented V.

The first one wasn't what I expected at all - an awkward love story about two damaged individuals who compliment each other enough to "fill gaps" in one another. Plus about 20 minutes of boxing.

The second is my favorite so far. The perfect balance of motivational story about boxing with the human drama and character of the first.

The third one was still pretty good, but a notable step down. Suddenly Rocky is smart enough to do commercials by the ton with no problem, after all that trouble he had in II doing just one of them? Suddenly he can speak clearly and suddenly no one is mentioning how he was in danger of going blind in one eye, his vision already severely damaged? Plus the movie is basically ALL boxing stuff now, and it also believes that wrestling is actually real - we were so innocent and naive in the '80s. Not a bad movie, I loved the use of Apollo and how Rocky is now overconfident at first until he loses his confidence completely and to regain faith in himself as a fighter. The announcers declare that "win or lose," this was to be Rocky's last fight... maybe it should've been.

The fourth one was awful, but hilariously so. Terrible continuity - in Rocky III it's repeatedly mentioned how it's been three years since Rocky II, when Adrian and Rocky got married. Now suddenly, the VERY SAME NIGHT after the third one, we learn it's actually been NINE years, and Rocky Jr.'s had a huge growth spurt! Music videos randomly break out. The frickin' ROBOT?! What in the hell was that?! Rocky's created the first artificial intelligence! Drago can punch twice as hard as the average heavyweight at first, and then THREE times as hard by the time the final fight hits - yet somehow Rocky can still stand up to 15 freaking rounds?! In the end, Rocky wins the cold war. Ugh. This movie sucked, but I laughed a lot.

Now on to part 5...

Yeah. The Rocky series suffers from the curse of "bad continuity". Asides from that, the series has been quite entertaining. Lower your expectations for Rocky V. Not too many people liked it. Personally, I liked it. Sly tried to capture the more gritty feel of the original. Some say he failed others don't. Rocky V was supposed to be the final with a very different ending than the one that made the cut. After you watch it, I can tell you what the original ending was. I don't want to spoil it for you.

Be prepared for another continuity glitch. :D

I don't know how these movies can have such bad continuity when ALL of them were written by - and most were also DIRECTED by - Stallone himself! I mean, when you change writers, it's a little less shocking, although still pretty dumb to have bad series continuity. When you keep the same writer and director, it's like - what the frickin' hell? Don't you remember the movies YOU MADE? Apparently Stallone's been punched so many times during this series that he's suffering from acute memory loss.

:D I strongly recommend the Stallone Zone forums. There are a few good threads on the Rocky series continuity. There's a summary that while it reconciles the timeline, there are other details that mess continuity, for example, Rocky's kid growth/age.
