Rocky 6

I saw it yesterday, i must say even though I saw it with my bone head mates who werent watching it all the way threw, i was and i loved it. A lot of people at school said it was really bad, but thats most likely because he isnt fighting all the way threw and actually talks. I loved it and cant wait to get it on DVD.

It wont make that much over here in the UK I dont think because half the kids in my year at school said they have it on Piracy DVD copy, so they are screwing the overall figure. I havent heard so many people say "I got it on DVD copy so im not coming to the cinema" in ages, which is a real shame for a film this fine.

a bunch of school kids probably isnt where i'd expect the money to come from seeing as none of them were alive for all the rocky films, it'll draw an older audience, i wouldn't base expected sales figures for the film on your year at school

You think wrong my friend lol, most of the kids/teens in my year love Rocky, I went with 3 friends who are all my age, and alot of the people in the cinema were 14 - 19, so the kid (when i say kid i mean 14/15 year olds here) fan is big.

what time of the day did you see it??? any time before 7pm its gonna be kids in the cinema, for any movie

We got to the cinema at 7pm, kids like 5 - 11 go before 7, but im talking more about teens than kids.

Jesus Christ, can't Stallone make new movies instead of doing sequals to ones that have all ready been sequaled to death?

maybe u shuld watch the film before you say that, because its very good, and a much better end to the series than 5!!

I've just seen it. Good movie, not great, but good.

I decided to devide my review in two parts, good and bad.

Good
- Script and story idea. The movie looks and feels epic with all this nostalgia effect. It makes you to believe that everything is possible, if you really want to get it. Monogues, dialogues... everything, what actors say sounds great and inspire for fight. Stallone made very smart choice to get back to the very early idea of the whole Rocky franchise: to tell underdog story about outsider, who has a fire.
- Actors. Stallone and others did a great job, that's all what I can say about them.
- Music. Film still has the music, which can get anyone to feel himself full of powers and energy.
- Last fight. Stallone showed the best of it, I loved every second of this long and epic scene. I was very impressed by the editting.

Bad
- Formula. Rocky 6 doesn't show anything new, it has a formula and script plan of the first movie. So why we need this film, if we can re-watch Rocky 1 on DVD every time, we want it? Yes, Sly tries to show improvement and changed details of what was shown in the beginning of franchise. But still, the better way would be to show more tragedy and a new way of storytelling.
- Flashbacks. There was too much of flashbacks, which weren't necessary. We understand what character feels and how he thinks, so there is no need in flashbacks.
- Rap music. Oh c'mon, this sucks.
- The end. I felt like the story wasn't finished.

Overall, my rate is 7 out of 10.

Okay, um...you're about 5-6 months too late.

See the movie, then judge. :whatever:

Surely a revered poster like yourself (IMO), didn't make that reason a drawback of the movie. There was only 3 scenes with rap music.

In my review I tried to touch all details of the movie. And I wasn't caviling at your review.

Finally saw it today and one word sums it up for me.....emotion

the script is thoughtful and has so much heart and i got goosebumps during the training montage, the end fight had hairs standing on my arms and neck and i sat with a huge smile on my face as Rocky walked from the ring with the fans chanting......for me a movie that makes you feel is the best type of movie and RB is a classic IMO......fitting end chapter for one of cinema's greatest characters:up:

I got actual chills from his speech in trying to get his license back. Then his speech to his son, I got a bit teary eyed :o I really would like Stallone to work a new character from the ground up, write and directing like he's done with Rocky

how so? not saying you are wrong, just curious as to how it wasnt finished.

Great news ! Can't wait to finally see it next week. Today I went to the movies to see The Pursuit Of Happyness and they were giving free Rocky Balboa mini-posters. I brought 3 home with me.

Well, I was expecting more from the end of the movie. Not just another sematary scene.

It's not about the cemetery it's about Rocky getting the fight and the pain out of his system and saying goodbye to Adrian finally,it was perfect

I agree completely!! I had a smile ear to ear when the fight started...I really enjoyed it. The opening credits with "Take You Back" by Survivor gave me goosebumps. Really good movie IMO, the best since 2.

How does having rap music make a movie bad? Last time I checked, a good number of boxers are fans of hip-hop and use rap songs for their intro music.

So I just re-watched the ending online and I must say, the final shot of Robert and Paulie holding up Rocky's arms in the tunnel with the music and everything...gets me a lil' choked up. I mean, that lil' scene with his arms in the air, the crowd chanting his name, the classic music goin' and Rocky waving goodbye....words can't describe how weird it feels.

I mean to think that this was/is the "Final Goodbye" from this iconic character.
