I too love "Romancing the Stone". You don't get leading ladies like Kathleen Turner anymore. She and Michael Douglas put a lot of today's on screen duos to shame. Plus you have to love the jazzy background theme.

I did,it wasn't as funny or as tightly written but the action and likable characters still made it enjoyable

Watched it last Friday for the first time in years. It's still an awesome movie. Great writing and directing and the action holds up quite well. And yes, Douglas is ****ing awesome as **** in this movie.

"Ah man, The Doobie Brothers broke up!"

Turner and DeVito were also excellent, and I consider the film an underrated gem.

I can't belive that was Kathleen Turner. She looks so different now, like a bloated wide-mouth bass fish. But I thought she was beautiful in RTS.

you know, It has happened too many ****ing times to me.
I loooove a movie, like this movie for all my life, then I see it again recently and I feel like gouging my eyes out after the first 15 minutes, like I saw this movie as the pinnacle of action/adventure back when I first saw it. I thought Douglas was soooo badass, but then....I saw it again and I was confused.
why did I like this again?
I'm making a pact with myself to not rewatch all those film from the 80's I adored.
next thing you know I'll find out war games was bad.
