My day= my youth when I walked, bicycled and ran around outside in addition to tv and games. Plus my parents made Mcdonalds an occasional thing. Not everyday like people now.

Sure, that's just common sense. However, the idea of banning everything that might be considered "bad" or "junk" would have gotten me pretty hacked off back in high school. Had I gone to the soda machine, after enduring a 2 1/2 hour wrestling practice, and someone told me, "You can't have that Mountain Dew. It's bad for you." I probably would have hit a double leg on them just on principle.

But the difference is that now it isn't state funded. Parents are allowed to raise their kids to be unhealthy, but the government should only offer what is good for the people.

I think both of you have good points. JAK is right about the government should be offering what is good for the people. I just think some actions are over kill, like potentially banning chocolate milk among other things.
