Ronald McDonald and Happy Meals 'should be banned', say health campaigners

I'll do, what I want.
I'll mother ****ing do,
do what I want.

Back in my day, people were responsible for their own fatness.

What day was that? Is that Leon Russel?
Anyways it's hard to blame some of these kids, they don't know any better, I see some pig disgusting people feeding their children pig disgusting portions of pig disgusting things, oh and they look so happy for it until they get terrorized later on in life.

My day= my youth when I walked, bicycled and ran around outside in addition to tv and games. Plus my parents made Mcdonalds an occasional thing. Not everyday like people now.

And yes, that is Leon.

Leon's awesome, last time he was on SNL I was wishing Elton John would of shut up more and let him sing. Yah it's a shame with parents these days, breeding a bunch of diabetics.

Agreed...I stayed up and watched that whole freakin show, and Leon was barely on it. Though, I liked that Monkey Suit song he and Elton did.

I think the only thing that should be banned are irresponsible parents who dont supervise their kids properly.:o

i think unhealthy food should be banned from schools. also drinks. but food in the city?

Health campaigners and political lobbyists 'should be punched in the face', says Hound55.

Health Campaigners are--in all likelihood--charlatans who can't control their occasional urge for junk and therefore want it to be banned.

Schools should offer healthy lunches. They are the biggest meals of the daytime that are eaten 5 days a week.

Sure, that's just common sense. However, the idea of banning everything that might be considered "bad" or "junk" would have gotten me pretty hacked off back in high school. Had I gone to the soda machine, after enduring a 2 1/2 hour wrestling practice, and someone told me, "You can't have that Mountain Dew. It's bad for you." I probably would have hit a double leg on them just on principle.

why bother? kids will bring their own unhealthy food.
But the difference is that now it isn't state funded. Parents are allowed to raise their kids to be unhealthy, but the government should only offer what is good for the people.

I think both of you have good points. JAK is right about the government should be offering what is good for the people. I just think some actions are over kill, like potentially banning chocolate milk among other things.
