The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Rotten Tomatoes - Predictions?

The fact that they are building a cinematic universe really shows that the Spider-Man franchise is growing into something bigger. We can really be given a chance to see Peter Parker's character grow, and watch his world expand with more stories, villains, and characters.

I don't think its possible to create a "definitive" Spider-Man film since that's also a bit subjective. What may feel complete to one person may seem incomplete to another. Some already believe SM1/SM2 are the definitive Spider-Man films, others don't.

Well I could certainly live with a studio thinking like this.

In terms of Spider-Man, I don't think they've even come close to making a definitive Spider-Man film. Not in effects (which are constantly evolving), performance, writing, or characterization. My hope is that this film is the start of something bigger. Not bigger in terms of plans moving forward, but in terms of artistic breadth.

 Fair enough, man. :)

 there is a lot of things going on this film, this is why i think that will be something very special :)

TASM2 is going to be the film that makes or breaks the series IMO. I'm really excited for this movie!

It would appear that people on this board seems to have a pretty realistic take on how well Amazing-2 could do on rotten. I too will give my final note on that whole procentage thing, settling at somewhere between 75-80%. I would really wanna see this film hit the 80% mark though! And again there is the chance that this film could go beyond even the 80%. Not delibrately counting on it, but I do however hope for it. As do We all, i'd assume. I really dont think it'll suck. I actually have faith in webb. Never gonna give Zack Snyder that same privilege ever again though.

Amazing-2 could end up surprising in it's story though. But frightening enough, they're gonna have to come up with something else that goes beyond "just" killing beautiful Gwen - cause that wouldn't surprise me one bit. It would more than likely catch the general audience off guard, yes. But not Us fans. We know it's coming at some point, dont We. And it could very well happen as early on as in this upcoming sequel.

Heard!
I completely feel the same way about it. People were on edge with the first film. The second movie really must make people excited.

The engine has been properly run in with the first film. Now it's time to find out what that engine is truly made of. And it had better be shifting right!! :-(

Well I have faith in Marc Webb, and the fact that he is combining forces with Orci and Kurtzman is what makes me even more confident. Even if the movie isn't absolutely SPECTACULAR, I think it will at least be very good.

As far as RT scores go, I think everyone is getting used to the fact that RT is getting pretty harsh with comic book movies. I do think that the audience rating will be very positive though if the movie is at least enjoyable.

True, but like I said, critics will remember the last two outings more, there is no momentum with this series. That breeds cynicism with critics about the films because it appears the studio is more interested in a money grab then making something of high quality. Great for shareholders, not for fans or critics.

Again, don't count on anything above 75%. I truly believe that would be the best case scenario. It won't jump 15-20 percent in the rankings, just won't happen with critics.

Don't tell me what to do, boy! I think it'll reach 111% and there is nothing you can do bout it :BA

Anyways, who cares what those creatures think. I don't understard why ratings even exist? So if they say Man of Steel sucks it also sucks for me? Nope! I think Man of Steel was awesome, best CBM of 2013 for me.
No one can tell me what I can or can't like and I don't give a damn what others think.

Yeah, pretty much. RT is a bible for some, but certainly not me as I've gone on record at this site about my distaste for the fast food approach to modern film crticism. I didn't start this thread, just responding T. I ain't afraid to fly solo sucka, don't need to drug me up so I get on the plane.

I have a friend who only goes to see movies with positive RT and IMDB scores. I try to tell him not to be a sheep, but nothing works.

People have always been like this to some degree, in the past they'd take a review in the Post or Times as gospel, now it's just magnified by the internet. It doesn't really hurt the tenpoles, just the smaller films that depend on good WOM as much as possible, which is unfortunate. If it has an inherent value it will always find it's audience though.

I dislike people who cant make up their own minds and need other people to do it for them.

However it's sad to see that TASM2 isn't as anticipated as CAP2 or DOFP for example... :(

There's a poll over at the comic book site that shall not be named. Spidey ranks on the last place. :(

I've been over there its sad to see people throwing Spidey under a bus, now if it were made by MS i'd be willing to be more people would say differently but I hate that site its notorious for spidey hate

Lol. Cap-A 2 looks very uninteresting compared to Spidey 2, imo. I think Cap-A is so boring and cheesy. I like Chris Evans, But Cap-a is just really boring. That movie is only more anticipated because it's the next link in the chain, leading up to the next Avengers flick. It's not because it's Captain America. He's nowhere near as popular as Spidey.

It will get more than %200 easy.
Well said

You're missing the point, people are anticipating it because the trailer was awesome, the storyline they are adapting is very well regarded, the Russo brothers seem to be comic book fans and to really want to make the film a great adaptation and it seems to be a MS film with a more realistic look, as well as portraying SHIELD in a more interesting fashion than the tv show and previous films.

If Cap-A isn't of your interest then it's obvious that you will not be excited for that movie, but right now i'm much more excited for that one than TAS-M, i wish no ill to either film and hope both are great, but to me Spidey 2 looks kind of boring.

People are anticipating the Captain America movie because, yes, the trailer was cool, but it no doubt is benefiting from being a part of the MCU. Let's face it, no one would give a damn about Captain America if it wasn't part of that grander cinematic universe.

Most people don't know who the Russo brothers are, and honestly, I think CA: TWS looks good, but nothing amazing. TASM2 looks much more exciting IMO, but we'll see. To each their own.

Don't sell Cap short, one of the true greats in comics. The film looks really good.

Polls on CBM mean squat, they are a bunch of MS sheep over there. More people will see TASM 2 in theaters then WS or DOFP, easily. Lets just hope they're all great films...

As for my most anticipated:

1. DoFP
2. GoTG
3. TASM 2
4. Winter Soldier

Days is my most anticipated film since the first Spider-Man.
