How about WB/DC move away from trying to get an actor that looks like Reeves?!

Start again (not with the Origins its a totally dragged out story now) with a fresh new Clark.

^^Have you looked at the latest pics of Routh lately, I don't see Christopher Reeve, I only see Superman's classic features.

Yeah, I was never one of thise people who thought Routh was Reeve's exact double in the 1st place. Sure, his Clark was styled to look like Reeve's Clark; that's about where the similiarities end for me.

Brandon looks more of his own man now; which ironically enough, actually makes him look more like Superman than he did in SR.

he sucked and the studio and fans know it, he PLAIN SUCKED! so yes he's out!

The fans know it? Last I check, I'm a Supes fan & I thought he did pretty good to deserve a second chance. And how do you know the studio know he's suck? I remeber Alan Horn work for WB & want him for Supes again. Guess you're wrong. :D

I think if people really want to respect Reeve, they should stop trying to find an actor who perfectly emulates his Superman and let Reeve be remembered as the definitive pioneer. No-one can do Chris Reeve's Superman as well as he could, so I think it's time to move on.

Well we havent heard anything from Brandon regarding Superman for a while so this has me worried, I really hope he gets to play the character again as I thought he was excellent in SR.

I was skeptical when he was first cast, but he did fine.
They had a lengthy international search the last time, why the hell would they do another one?
If the movie is made in the next couple of years, Routh would be the smart move.

I agree, although there are others who dont.

Get ready for the usual deluge of posts by the Cavill brigade as soon as they look in their subscribed threads and see this has been bumped.

^^Agreed guys, Brandon makes a wonderful Superman and he also likes playing the role, I love that about him. Sadly WB are so blind. I really think they're making a big mistake by replacing him.

Any way, for those interested in his career, here is a recent interview with him, and other actors from the cast, on the set of 'Chuck',

And here is the link to the pilot ep of the show. Check it out, it's an awesome and fun show,

Just scroll down a little till you see a small screen.

WB are blind? They may be lazy, but they're well aware that "Superman Returns" wasn't near as great as it could have been. It was the first Superman film in a very long time, it should have smashed all sorts of records, but didn't. In that sense they know what they're doing by pushing aside an SR sequel in favor of something fresh, something that isn't a rehash, vague sequel, or whatever hackneyed idea that screwed them over this time around.

People need to seriously get the Hell over this. The next cinematic Man of Steel won't be Routh, Welling, Cavill, Bomer, etc. You're looking at another unknown at this point.

Cavill & Bomer are still technically unknown, they aren't household names anyway.

Neither are Welling & Routh to be fair, however they have ties with different versions of Superman & would be bigger than Cavill & Bomer... I'd imagine.

Their time came and went. Cavill was never in the running for Superman Returns or Justice League: Mortal. Ditto Bomer, Welling and Routh (for JL:M). That says it all. I wouldn't call any of those actors unknowns even "technically speaking."

:yay:I think brandon routh should come back as superman. He looks like superman, acts like superman, and in Superman Returns did what you would expect superman to do.What killed the movie was that the movie was centered around superman and lois not superman. I think if the movie wasn't centered around a realtionship, the movie would have been a lot better.

What!?!

I mean, among the myriad of problems with the film (lack of action, poor dialogue, bad casting for Lois, no originality, etc), the one thing that this movie really could have used was the relationship between Clark/Supes and Lois. The Richard/kid thing destroyed one of the fundamental components that make Superman enjoyable to watch.

There was not too much relationship there at all (there wasn't much chemistry between Routh and Bosworth to begin with).

Can't believe Singer said those two worked well. Sure, may be in a photo, but on-screen? Bleh. Bosworth = worst Lois ever (though w/ the caveat that her lines were so poorly written).
