Doomsday is famous for killing superman , so i doubt in the movies he wont be able to or he wont kill him at all. This wont work in the next superman movie because, he just got back from a 5 year absence just to be killed and gone again. I think they should make 4 more movies and a spinoff. The next SR2 should have superman batle lex and brainiac, SR3 should have superman fight darkseid, SR4 should have superman battle doomsday and die, Then if jasons still around have him take daddy's job for a little bit ( as superboy) and have darkseid return and invade earth (now its eaiser because superman isn't there) , jason cant do the job right and then in SR5 The worlds greatest hero comes back and him and his son beat the crap out fo darksied.

what do you think?

I hope they make the movie a bit more creative and innovative then just have "SRII: he fights Brainiac", "SRIII: He fights Doomsday" etc.

Come on, Superman is not about street-fighting with superpowers. Is much bigger then that.

The thrill of Superman the movie was to see Superman introduced to the world and how he feels powerless when he is too late to save Lois, not how he beats Lex.

The thrill of Superman II was not the fight with Zod, it was to see when Superman lost his powers and tried to cope.

The thrill of Superman III was not the geek supercomputer, it was to see how it would be with a bad Superman and not a good one.

It is NOT the villain that makes it a good movie, that is just a little part of the bigger thing. Superman is a love story. It is a story about an alien trying to fit in. It is the story about a god living amongst men and trying to show us the way. It is about how humanity could be with the influence of Superman.

I'd rather see a sequel focusing on what Superman can't fix. I want to se him try to save someone and fail, and trying to cope with it. I want to see him at ground zero, I want to see him do what Jor-El tells him - Show the people of earth guidance.

I'd much rather see Superman try to fix the conflicts of the world, rather then a fistfight with Doomsday (though that also would be cool).

In a sequel I want to see what our world could be like if it had a Superman to be "the light to show the way".

They could twist things around in Superman's Around and have the real superman return.

It'll be like this. A space craft lands at the beginning, a perplexed martha investigates and we learn that the guy landing here this time is the REAL superman. the one in the last movie was a clone sent to destroy earth. While superman was in space, he encountered some aliens from planet 9 who cloned him and sent their clone to conquer earth, but superman escaped the aliens and now must race back to save his home world. And now the real superman must battle the clone to protect lois. It'll be an interesting twist on the events of this film, i think. and explain a few things about this clone superman's powers.

Eradicator.......... plane and simple.... SR set up his coming to earth...... he needs to perserve new krypton and earth is a threat

4 more movies....Lord no. 1 more with Doomsday will be plenty. NO MORE SEQUAL HAPPY PEOPLE.

what exactly are Brainiac's powers? is he a physical fighter? i don't know too much about him. but, i want to see Superman "fight" against a super villian who can actually "fight" back. that's what made Superman II so great. i don't want to see Superman fighting a stupid computer again like in Superman III. we need some great action fighting like in the Spider-Man flicks.
Superman needs to fight someone like Bizarro. or Solomon Grundy. or anyone who can physically challenge him. hell, i would even like to see Doomsday fight him. but not yet. maybe after the next.
but there has got to be a true physical fight. no more of him racing down missiles or lifting huge pieces of mass.
we need some street fighting ala Superman II/Spider-Man 2.

There are plenty of stories that can me told in a second film.

Just SOME posible foes:

Brainiac
Darkseid
Metallo
Parasite
Doomsday
Intergang
Solomon Grundy
Bizarro
Ultra-Humanite

Superman has been going strong since 1938, there are plenty of stories left to adapt to film.

As long as they keep a good story intact, introducing villians like Braniac, Doomsday, or Metallo would be the right thing to do.

Singer better stay away from Zod & give us something new. I wonder if Singer can match up to Smallvilles Braniac since that was just about the only good thing that came from Season 5. Braniac & Cyborg anyway

Singer won't be doing another one. Pirates assured that with 55.6 million in one day. Buh-Bye Singer you twit.

Warner Bros. movies have had numerous openings with that of SR, i'm sure Singer will come back. All the actors are signed on for more.

With SR beating box office records overseas and with a steady go in the US there will be a sequel.

SR managed 7 million even when Pirates took their enormous sweep of 55 million. So it seems clear that SR will still gain steady income and end up between 200-300 domesticaly and the same internationally.

Which version of Brainiac? Both robots and humanoids versions were able to give Superman a good fist fight, the robot Brainiac has a nearly indesatructible frame, Superman has to work very hard to destroy it, has lasers that can hurt Superman and has a force field that protects him from Superman's blows. The humanoid Brainiac, has great mental powers, Superman's strength cannot protect him from a mental attack and can create mental enegry force feilds to protect him Superman. Both can give Superman a fight.

Superman deal with the emotional fall out from SR and fight a villain at the same time. I think it would be cool if Brainiac kills Richard and/or Jason and Superman gets so pissed that he is punching Brainiac with such force, that it causes shock waves. Let's face it, they will have to get Richard, out of the way somehow.

Superman not able to save his own son would be a tremendous plot. That would really mess him up and be the ultimate challenge.

Let him question if humanity is something with the potentiall for good. The real strength of Superman is that he aids humans and not conquer them. Let Brainiac or another supervillain kill his son and let Lex be in the back fooling Superman into believing that humanity is to blame for his sons death.

That would be a great story and a great obstacle for Superman. And in the end lets have a big clash between Supes and a supervillain. Then everybody would be happy.

But I never think WB will dare go as far as to kill of Supermans kid.

Yeah, I don't think killing the boy is option, no matter how dramatic or cool it be. But still there wiggle room, that Richard character has to be gotten rid of and Lois just breaking up with him, would be undramatic and unfitting for a character that was so important in SR.

i still think there is drama in killing of Richard, just give him a hero's death. let's say Superman's battle with Brainiac reaches the Daily Planet somehow. Brainiac spots Lois and Jason and fires a laser beam at them, at the last second Richard jumps in front of the beam and is vaporized. Then Superman goes insane on Brainiac, we will see a Superman who is totally pissed off.

I like your thinking. Even more dramatic have him killed in a way that makes Lois blame Superman (like him smashing him through a building and Richard is caught in the crossfire). Or maybe have Richard sacrificing himself for Supermans son.

What I really want is for Lex to be running for Governor or something, but that is out of the question when the writers went for the "old school" Lex.

I want Lex around pulling the strings no matter what supervillain they bring in. Damn those writers going for the small crook/madman scientist - Lex and not the business genious Lex of modern age.

If SR had a Lex as governor it would be much more for the man of steel to get used to then just a son and Lois moving on.

Give us a movie where everything turns against Superman. Lois, the public and have a supervillain challenging him and in the background Lex pulling the strings.

Like Lex said: Bring it on :)

Lex has been done too many times; sure, he'll be in the background, but there has to be a real threat that says, only Superman can defeat this.

I wonder how Richard will react to knowing he isn't the boy's father. was he staying with lois only because he thought he was the baby's daddy and therefore obligated to support the little guy?

I just saw Independence Day. Still a great movie, ten years after its premiere.

The thought ran through my head: Independence day with Superman in it would have been great.

Make a great big alien invasion, put in Will Smith and let Brandon Routh fly to kick som mother f**cking spaceships ars...
