The way Joss explains Hulk is there are TWO types of Hulks. ONE is uncontrollable like when the explosion happened on the Helicarrier, hurting Banner and Hulk is brought to the surface angry because of that.
The Second is, when Banner brings Hulk up at will, THAT Hulk we saw first beat up the Leviathan or should I say slammed it's head into the bridge. That Hulk is more than willing to Help in a fight and is more in Control.

I'd like this, too.
Not just because Liv and Hurt turned in great performances, but also I'd just like to see Marvel Studios acknowledge TIH instead of treating it like an unwanted child they put up for adoption.

I'd also like to see how the Banner/Stark bromance develops. That's completely new to the Marvel Universe, and kinda refreshing to see Tony become a gushing fanboy to the Hulkster.

I agree that a must is Hulk showing his view of Banner (wich is reall just Banner's view if himself, but still). Remember to him, Banner is "the other guy". If the Hulk gets any dialog this is what it should be about. And he SHOULD get dialog.

I think we should move past harping on the TV show and just let Ruffalo and whoever does his stunts handle Hulk.

Honestly, I think old TV show Hulk is more interesting.

I'd like to see more dialogue as well. There's that bit in the first movie where Thor says "We are not your enemies, Banner! Try to think!" and it just seemed like the perfect moment for Hulk to respond with something like "Puny Banner isn't here right now."

I'm not saying I want him to be a chatterbox or anything around a bunch of people he doesn't like, but it would be nice to flesh the character out beyond roars and smashing (not that there's anything wrong with either of those things ).

I want Hulk to talk more like in Avengers: EMH & Avengers Assemble. If they're keep showing kids that Hulk knows how to talk, they need to have that in a movie

I prefer Hulk without real dialogue. When Hulk is capable of operating independent of his seething explosive rage, he becomes cartoonish to me, much less interesting, as Question put it.

The Hulk is a monster, he should be constantly dangerous. That moment in Avengers where Hulk seemed like he was ready to smash Cap just for speaking to him. That's a rage monster. That's a force of nature. A big green lughead playing cards with his buddies isn't really an epic mythic character. It's a gag, on some level.
