I want Planet Hulk so bad because it covers a lot of ground in a "safe" environment. Banner shipped to space or self-exile, ends up on a planet or gladiatorial games (Mojo? or something similar), other aliens around to fight, plenty of things to destroy without consequence, Banner and Hulk coming to understand each other.

Phase IV?

I suppose Planet Hulk could work. I'm not exactly against it, but I'm not for it either. Ultimately it's up to Marvel, and I'll trust whatever decision they make for Hulk. And really, I'd just be happy to have another Hulk movie.

But my ideal vision for a Hulk movie has Bruce Banner up against an invigorated, expanding AIM, either directly lead by the Leader, or manipulated in the background by the Leader. However, Leader wouldn't be the main bad guy just yet.

Instead, I think the U-Foes could make for very very interesting (albeit adapted for big screen) opposing force, that should require not only Hulk to be at his strongest, but for Bruce to be at his smartest, to defeat. Simon Utrecht (otherwise known as Vector) would be the active face of AIM at the time, and his ambitions could either usher in a biological threat (putting the good doctor into more of an actual doctor role), or some outstanding, reality breaking device (possibly involving lots of gamma radiation) that he's trying to perfect, but has a good chance of destroying the world. Due to circumstances, or lack of awareness, Bruce and friends are either the only ones trying to stop it, or the only ones capable of stopping it.

Add some exploration of Bruce's past, and the psyche of the Hulk, but not to Ang Lee levels of borderline dementia, and make sure Bruce is always a proactive participant in events, instead of the man on the run that he's always portrayed as, and I think you've got a pretty good foundation for a Hulk movie.

I won't try to specify any plot points or details though, cause that goes a bit too much into "fan fiction" territory.

I'd be OK with a planet hulk movie only after they finally get a solid Earth bound movie or 2.

I feel like there's so much potential, but they've got to get over the "typical chase" plot.

U foes could be a really good set of antagonist for hulk & Banner (and his team). I think the other allies of hulk need to be present in order to have more cohesive, stronger movie.

Falcon, Nick F., Black W. are made the Cap sequel an even better movie than if it were just Captain America. Any hulk solo film should do the same.

They'd need to rework the Leader a bit to actually make him a scary and credible threat in the MCU. It'd probably be better if they left the Mr Blue stuff behind.

I don't want PH, personally. It's an ok story, but I don't understand the immense popularity it gets.

The only way I really would want PH is if it crossover with GotG

Yep. I dunno, it just feels too sudden, Hulk was shot off because he was deemed too dangerous for earth, IIRC. Here, we've seen...what? Including TIH, two or three accidental hulk outs, in which there were minimal damages? Meh.

The leader needs to be featured. And bring back abomy.

Probably because, and this is just my opinion here, it shows Hulk separated from everything in his usual environment and puts a spotlight on the character when it's just him. It showed that when the chips are down and he has no reason to help, Hulk is still a really heroic soul that can be a positive force for the world. It was a refreshing change from the usual, growling and misunderstood frankenstein aspect lamenting about how unfair his plight is.

But, as far as it's placement in the MCU...it is too soon. Part of the appeal is seeing Hulk away from his usual cast and setting, and so far we've barely seen him with his friends and enemies. Right now most of the character's concerns are in relation to the global threats, and we need a more personal stake before we can shift gears. We need him IN his element before we can take him out of his element.

I don't want to see Planet Hulk in the MCU. Apart from that I don't think it's that good I don't see it having a good fit into the overall cinematic universe. In my opinion there's much better things that can be done on Earth and he's a much better character when the struggle between Banner and Hulk is present.

I'm not a fan of a Planet Hulk movie, and don't think Hulks character would fit well with the light-hearted approach of the GOTG movies either.

I assume any positive public perceptions of Banner/Hulk are going to be destroyed in AoU and I would like to see a movie challenge this by showing them face a serious threat on Earth. Include characters like Betty, Rick Jones and Jennifer Walters to support Banner and interact with Hulk. I think Betty and Jennifer could be great - two very different but strong female characters to join the MCU (Betty in TIH seemed to be there as a love interest only and the character has more potential IMO).

The story could show Banner using his intelligence to tackle the threat, and then Hulk using his power to destroy it. Let Banner/Hulk show they can be a hero - even if they are unpredictable and potentially very dangerous.

How would Hulk not fit in with GoTG a lot of his big moments in A1 were light-hearted moments.

And you could certainly still have Banner and Hulk interaction, in fact it could be heightened perhaps Banner thinks he deserves to be exiled and is willing to be locked up on Sakaar but obviously the Hulk wants to escape and exact revenge.

However saying that I don't think it would fit in with the planned MCU.

I think suggestions of Banner/Hulk in GOTG are just fans trying to get some version of Planet Hulk. Banner can be exiled on Earth, and he couldn't really contribute anything as a scientist as the tech in GOTG is to advanced. Plus if the Hulk was included in GOTG it would inevitably lead to a Hulk vs. Groot confrontation. Who wants to see sweet Groot turned into toothpicks? Not me!

I love GOTG and I support Gunn's plans to keep the two teams seperate for now. GOTG need time to develop - the characters have had one team movie compared to numerous solo and Avengers movies. Plus there are so many great possible stories to explore for Hulk on Earth.

Wow, I just realized that Mark and Robert are like the two oldest actors to "currently" be portraying comic book superheroes on live action format.lol

But wait, does Professor X count as a Superhero? Because I'd have to include Patrick Stewart in that list then.

Not counting Professor X or Hank Pym they're older by about a year or two than several others - Hugh Jackman is 46, Paul Rudd is 45, Renner is 44.

Why did I think Renner was in his 30s?

Planet Hulk wouldn't work. Mark Ruffalo, not the Hulk is tied to a contract. Having an entire movie with just the Hulk wouldn't help fulfill his contract. Besides, Mark Ruffalo's Banner is just too interesting a character to deny him screen time in favor of his other half. Not to mention him being out in space would mean he's limited to only so many movies.

I think they could change up the story a bit to have Banner feature more in a possible PH movie, it would create some great inner conflict moments and be able to show both as heroes.
